Video: Convoy of CDN sicarios getting gasoline before "topón" with Coahuila State Police

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat

Minutes before the confrontation that left twelve CDN enforcers dead, the convoy stopped for gas, video footage gleaned from a security camera surfaced Thursday in social media.

The assassins are shown driving into a gas station, where their vehicles were being filled with gasoline.  Some of the heavily armed assassins  exited their vehicles and stood guard as the attendant filled the tanks.

The governor of Coahuila, Miguel Angel Riquelme Solis, reported that the number of dead totaled 12.

The shootout between the Fuerza Coahuila [state police] and CDN occurred on Sunday on the Minas La Florida Highway, towards Planta Lavadora,  in the municipality of Múzquiz

The shooting, according to reports, began after the police detected a 30 truck convoy with armed civilians on board.

Through Facebook and Twitter residents of towns close to Múzquiz, such as Barroterán, and Sabinas, warned of the risk situation, advising to avoid going out into the streets. Even Monclova, which is further South, issued a Red Alert to its residents. [Click on image to view]

  1. Chivis, are you sure that there were 30 truck convoy and not 3? From images it looks like 3 trucks...

    1. 3 getting gas- the convoy in its entirety did not need gas simultaneously --eye witnesses told me---and multiple eye witnesses, that there were apx 30. the 30 broke up into smaller groups when they were spotted. I rely on sources I am comfortable with. but of course I did not see them myself

  2. The gas man should have walked away, the 2nd, they took guns out, they are cheapskates they we're not going to pay him, and if there was a shooting, he would have been another innocent shot.

    1. Walking away and beeing shot in the back and the gas station burned. Sounds like a smart plan to reduce casualties and costs compared to some lost gasoline by just serving them.

    2. Its Mexico. Where money is tight and a gun goes a long way. Added with a cheap employer!

  5. but did they pay?

look at the sicarios on the right, they panic too quick, might be drugs? or their fear is much bigger? one of them seems so unsure too nervous, he aims walks back n forth. its normal to be nervous its normal to be scared when u know bullets will fly but the way these guys show their paranoia is just crazy, i bet anything they where some of the first ones to drop dead, and if they didnt its its because they ran the second the first bullets flew

  6. The dead guy in lower left corner.. that looks like one of those creatures from the alien movies that latch onto your face. Thankfully it looks like they killed it! That's all we need, a coked up drug smuggling, kidnapping, extortionist extraterrestrial!

  7. That's one good way to draw attention and get yourself shot. Also, the dumbass at 1:13 is aiming his weapon with his buddy in the line of fire.

    2. 6:23 traditionally the PRIISTA governors, but PAN member Javier corral may be too pure and too much of a Saint to deal with narco criminals. He will have Guarida Nacional from AMLO.

  11. On the 4 fotos composite, the guy in the lower left seems to be with his hands on the back like on handcuffs and his mouth covered with a rag,
Maybe the 30 truck convoy was waiting for them to get some gas to start running for their lives... Shit must look credible, you know?
But the result of 10 Sicario drug trafficking rapists getting anihilated
looks more suspicious than a talking bag of dog shit.
The government always rings the door and are committed to peaceful arrests with warnings to suspects and requests that they surender to minimize the loss of life, according to best police practices and Kioto protocols and protections of international human rights...
Pass the salt please, this shit is too hard to digest.

  12. Who would want to put Premium gas in a stolen truck going in to a gun battle?
As far as not paying for gas that's what kind of assholes they are. These guys from CDN are being well funded from what I see as far as tactical gear and weapons.

  13. Didn't those sicarios and cartel knew that Coahuila constructed military bases all over the state. Including at the cities where the Zetas slaughter the people and burned down some of the buildings. By the way, Tamaulipas is 60% low on crime. I heard Matamoros ain't really that bad anymore. All I know is that Reynosa and Nuevo Laredo is still bad. Tampico ain't bad anymore as well. Haven't seen the people posting shootouts in Tamaulipas.

  14. And that’s the difference in training. They went up against the Pros.

  15. The shootout started when the gas station attendant called the police to alert authorities of a large convoy of armed men. I would quit that job at the gas station because of the suspicion that the cartel would have, and the media coverage such as on this site. There will be reprisals, justified or not.

  16. It's funny to watch on video how these idiots like to pretend they are special forces operators when they barely know how to actually shoot and handle a weapon.
