A book bomb explodes in the hands of MORENA senator

The senator from Morena, Citlalli Hernández Mora, suffered an attack around 7:07 pm in her office when she opened a package in the form of a book she had received the day before.

Apparently, it was a gift in the form of a book that when she opened it, it started a  fire that struck her face and burned several electronic devices that were on the desk.

At the close of this edition, Hernández Mora did not give any statement about the aggression of which she was a victim.

For his part, Ricardo Monreal, leader of the Board of Political Coordination of the Senate, said that the life of the senator is not in danger, since there were no serious injuries.

"She does not have injuries that put her life at risk," said Monreal, who asked for support from security elements.

At the scene of the events, personnel of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic arrived, experts in explosives along with two canine elements.

The first images were made known through Whats app messages, in which you can see the desk with gunpowder and a red book.

  2. Today, all modern nations have incoming "mail security" measures in place. Does anyone have ideas of how this (amateurish) bomb got to her desk?

    1. Yeps, it looks like the explosive charge was an exploding jumping bean or a lightning garbanzo the kind kids throw on sidewalks.
Fart bags are much more dangerous, somebody could burst a tripa from the laughter.

    2. Hi Chivis, please note that is a stock photo used by the press and not the actual book involved. I have not been able to find photos of the actual device. Cheers.

    3. Actually, look closely at the piece of PVC pipe used in the pipe bomb. One of the end caps came off and that allowed the burning gasses from the low explosive mixture to escape rather than expand and explode the pipe. She was very lucky.

    4. @"Cheers" Hey thank you, makes me feel differently about the story--but A question --I ran the foto through two apps I use to verify authenticity and original source and it came up 140 times but all related to the story above, and no other source.

What app or foto search method did you use?
