Plea Deal: El Mono Muñoz free, turned state witness

The Coahuilense has been released for several days now, reported sources close to the case. Juan Manuel "El Mono" Muñoz was released by US authorities, after pleading guilty last week, where he had reached an agreement with the Texas prosecution to give information , sources close to the case reported to Milenio.

The Coahuilense linked to Los Zetas, was released a few days ago was reported last night, without there being a confirmation or denial from the US authorities or the Mexican.

Last week, it was reported that "El Mono" Muñoz pleaded guilty before a Texas court for the crime of conspiracy to launder money.

Although the records in the file were sealed, it was learned that the US Attorney's Office told Judge David Ezra that Muñoz Luévano made illicit financial transactions with money that came directly from the sale of drugs.

Jalisco: Homicides of minors is on the rise

The homicides of minors are on the rise in Jalisco. And proof of this is the case of a 14-year-old teenager who was executed early yesterday, in Colonia Alamedas de Zalatitán.

According to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National System of Public Security (SESNSP), during the first four months of 2016 there were 15 victims, while in the same period of this year there were 40. This represents an increase of 166.6 percent.

On April 29 it was learned that the cells of organized crime are increasingly recruiting children and young people, which exposes them more to violence.

Rogelio Barba, the criminal investigative coordinator of the CUCSH (Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades) said that the criminals offer to enter their ranks with the guarantee that they will not go to jail because of their age, in addition to that many of the minors have few opportunities to develop.

Estado de México: Tortured and bagged

The bagged bodies were discovered inside a house in Iztapalapa by agents of the Secretariat of Public Safety.

Two bagged corpses were found in a house located in the San Miguel Teotongo neighborhood of the Iztapalapa city center in Mexico City.

Agents of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of the capital found the bodies tied, beaten and tortured inside bags, after breaking into a home.

So far the sex of the bodies and the motive of the attack are unknown, so the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City is investigating the facts.


Vicente Zambada Plea Agreement

In case you may have missed my posting of this Plea Agreement a few moths ago, I am re-posting. This plea was entered into in November 2018.  There are some interesting tidbits pertaining to his history and sentencing guidelines.

Although Vicente Zambada received a favorable sentence of 15 years and credit for time served, it could have been much sweeter as the range was 10 years to life.
With a maximum fine of 10M.

In the plea, Zambada agreed to cooperate with the government in locating assets that could be used to pay the fine.

His ability to remain in the U.S. is subject to immigration court and no certainty is given or implied.

Children face greater danger in Mexico than in Syria

 In Latin America and the Caribbean, violence continues to be one of the leading causes of death for girls and boys, said the new global report by Save the Children.

The report entitled 'Building a better life with children' evaluated 176 countries using international indicators on infant mortality, access to education, nutrition, protection against harmful practices, such as child labor, child marriage, homicide and forced displacement.

In the 2019 edition, Mexico again falls three places in the ranking from 93 to 96, ranking below Latin American countries such as Cuba, Chile, Argentina or Peru.

TJ Crime Wave Continues: 10 Executed, Human Remains + Narco Message

In the last hours 10 people were killed in different parts of the city, as well as the finding of human remains accompanied by a narco-message signed by the nickname "Moreno".

At noon on Monday on the Atotonilco Street and De las Torres in Colonia El Pipila were found two bags with the dismembered remains of a male with the following message: I 'll keep killing all those who still sell blue baloons: ATT. Moreno"

In the General Hospital  Francisco Javier Corona Rivas, 27 years old, died after the shots he received in the abdomen and thorax. Also José Muñoz Cervantes died there , 60 years old, after being the victim of an armed attack in Las Campos neighborhood. "El  Felix", Silva Jauregui, 46, was also died in the hospital after he was shot in the head.

Chihuahua: Sicarios are going at it with everything

Three beheaded and three shot dead were recorded this weekend.

The violent streak began last Saturday, when authorities went to a homicide in El Coyote ranchería in the Atascaderos section.

Dozens of CJNG sicarios in 50 trucks went on a rampage [see previous post here] in the city of Zamora, Michoacán. In the video on Yaqui’s post of the convoy, supposedly one can count 50 trucks which would amount to about 200-300 gunmen.

Three colonias were involved Ex Hacienda del Refugio, El Jericó and Fraccionamiento Río Nuevo.
Three Officers were shot while patrolling Ferrocarrill Street,  two later died.

Minutes later another attack on Valle Verde and Jardines de Jerico, resulting in 10 officers being shot and injured and another killed, one of the 10 died at the hospital.  Of the ten, eight were municipal officers’ two state police.

Cuidad Juárez: Corrupt cop shot while in motel room

CIUDAD JUAREZ.- A municipal agent survived an attempted murder this morning when he was shot at on his day off. 

According to the version of ministerial agents that arrived at the scene, the officer arrived at the Motel Cúpula with two women. Once inside the room he heard someone trying to force the door open. 

The municipal policeman fired his weapon and a shootout broke out. The assassins managed to escape from the scene.

The officer called for backup. And rapidly soon after the place was swarmed by state and ministerial agents.

Acapulco: 2 dismembered men thrown at entrance of Santa Cruz neighborhood

The remains of two men were found early Saturday morning on the busy Constituyentes Avenue, in front of the entrance to the Santa Cruz neighborhood.
According to police authorities, at 2:30 in the morning they were alerted to the emergency number that there were black bags with human remains in said road.

Near the bridge of the Camarón River, were the bags scattered on the street, which were removed by workers of the Forensic Medical Service.

Zamora, Michoacán: The Attorney General of the State of Michoacán (FGE), confirmed that the attacks on the Municipal Police of Zamora, occurred early Sunday, left three officers dead and 10 injured.

The FGE explained that at approximately 3:30 am, the uniformed personnel were traveling in the vicinity of Colonia Centro, in the city of Zamora, on board a patrol, when they were attacked by a group of armed persons.

Villagran, Guanajuato: 140 kilos of weed hidden in corn cargo

TJ: Search Reveals Large Stash Of Meth and Heroin

Staff of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in Baja California, completed a search warrant issued by the District Judge Specialized in the Accusatory Criminal Justice System of the Federal Criminal Justice Center for a building located in the Colonia Cerro Colorado where they secured 200 Kilos 780 grams 400 milligrams of methamphetamine and 27 Kilos 992 grams 900 milligrams of heroin.

4 subjects approximately 22 miles off the coast of Baja California with large marijuana load called for rescue when they suffered engine failure. They were rescued and subsequently arrested.

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is only whining about his lack of earplugs and outdoor activity as an elaborate ruse to escape prison ahead of sentencing, according to a new court filing.

Guzman, 61, claimed earlier this month he’d been forced to shove toilet paper in his ears to mask the din of prison, and had nothing but an indoor exercise bike to maintain his physique.

Calexico, California:  U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Calexico East commercial facility Monday seized 242 pounds of cocaine after finding the narcotics co-mingled with a shipment of bell peppers.

“This was great work by the team of officers working at the Calexico East port of entry,” said Area Port Director David Salazar.  “Their hard work and inspectional scrutiny stopped an extremely dangerous narcotic from entering the U.S. and ultimately, millions of dollars of illicit funds from flowing back into the pockets of transnational criminal organizations.”

Shortly before 5 p.m. on May 20, an international truck entered the Calexico East cargo facility from Mexico with a shipment that was listed as green bell peppers.

Suspected hitmen of the Jalisco Cartel Nueva Generación ( CJNG ) penetrated Sinaloa Cartel (CDS) security to execute two men in Culiacán.

The Attorney General of the State identified the deceased, both with a criminal record, as Juan Gabriel N., 45, and Miguel Ángel N, 43.
