Inhabitants of Guanajuato set fire to cars, to stop an operation to capture 'El Marro', alleged leader of a huachicolero.

Santa Rosa de Lima.-  Residents of the community of Santa Rosa de Lima, Guanajuato, tried to stop a joint operation of federal and state troops, burning vehicles and blocking roads, for the second consecutive day.

The inhabitants who also caused disrujptions, were paid by the so-called "huachicoleros", a cartel specialized in the theft of hydrocarbons; but the security forces managed to take control of the situation.

The operation deployed by the federal government aims to capture " El Marro " alleged Huachicolero leader of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel, who is apparently protected by the people, according to national media.

State prosecutor Carlos Zamarripa said that the operation that took place on Monday at dawn resulted in no injuries and some detainees, who were not specified as the operation is still ongoing.

In addition to the confiscation of weapons, drugs, luxury vehicles and fuel tanks, the authorities freed six kidnapped people who suffered abuse, including a policeman.

There were also payroll envelopes that contained money and were identified with the word "collection" and the seal of the criminal organization in which the order is read: "When they are notified, relatives must go out to demonstrate when required."

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador regretted that criminals still have the support of citizens and insisted that if they need support, they turn to the Government.

"Yes you need work, because there are no job opportunities (...) count on us, we will offer that," said the president. "Better to take advantage of social programs than accept handouts from criminals".

    1. CJNG making fake videos and spreading word that a convoy with CJNG were going though the streets of Michocan, many villages, and ended up killing 6 Viagras is completely false Btw. They killed 6 Innocents instead. shameful and misleeding everyone including the media. What's really happening is the new alliance in Michocan between all the smaller cartelina's and Gente Nueve of CDS/CDP sent by chapitos to clense these perros. 💯 and if everyone noticed that when the new administration started, the pax alliance of CDs/CDP withdrew from gas pulling and as everyone noticed CJNG followed. Why you think they followed suit??

    3. Must admit that this presumption of paid cartels for favorable service has been noted. Looking at previous events and accusations of government officials paid by cartels for financial gain makes a valid point.

    5. @Michael Miller, I appreciate your insight - clear and concise. Your approach of simply stating news and/or facts, and not toiling in opinions, allows for some critical thinking on the topic and adverts the unnecessary critiquing of thoughts. ¡Salude!

    8. 5:34 Am The Sinaloas are going to ally with who? The Viagras because they are the only one's not allied with CJNG or CT. The Templarios I doubt will ally with the Sinaloas they are doing business with CJNG.

The Viagras only have Buenavista to Zamora, Urupan to Ario and they don't control everything in order for them to go from Buenavista to Urupan they take the dirt and backroads that take 6 to 8 hours to get their when its only a 1 hour drive.

Amazing that an ignorant populace can do that without punishment, but under AMLO's presidency, the actorities will respect the people, EPN and Fecal would have killed themselves a few to show work PRI and PRIAN STYLE...

Those fotos of a gasolinera in Houston Texas showing a Pemex selling Magna at half price embittered a lot of people. Take time to learn why los Mexicanos believe gobernacion is considered to be the biggest crook of all.
