Quintana Roo: Three killed in hotel zone of Cancun [Video]

Chivis Martinez for Borderland Beat from Reforma

Three men were killed with a large-caliber weapon in the hotel zone of the Municipality of Benito Juárez (Cancún), Quintana Roo.

This Saturday, on the junction of Bonampak and Nichupté avenues, a subject shot multiple times, shooting four occupants of a white truck with Jalisco license plates, the state attorney's office said.

The killings were recorded by a security camera in the area.

The authorities explained that the three dead were from Michoacán, and one more who continues hospitalized for gunshot wounds is originally from Campeche.

In a preliminary way, it was stated that one of the avenues of research on the multi-homicide, is that it was a “settling of accounts” between criminal gangs.

"The gray vehicle allegedly related to the incident was found by ministerial police, abandoned in the streets of Supermanzana 15," said Prosecutor Óscar Montes de Oca.
