El Chapo Trial: VERDICT GUILTY ON COUNT ONE---HE FACES LIFE

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat

DEA released today this foto of Chapo landing in Long Island from Juarez

JURY FOUND GUILTY ON ALL 10 COUNTS AND 26 OF 27 VIOLATIONS INCLUDING MURDER CONSPIRACY AND BEING LEADER OF CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS

The legal definitions of some terms such as conspiracy, circumstantial and direct evidence, and made clear to the seven women and five men of the jury that when evaluating the case they should start from the  premise that the accused is initially innocent and that in order to reach a conclusion unanimously afterwards, he must do so "beyond a reasonable doubt".

Judge Cogan told jurors he was impressed on how methodical they were in their deliberations.  Adding “Frankly, it makes me proud to be an American.”
Alan Feuer:
Chapo looked a little stunned sitting with his lawyers and listening to the guilty verdicts come in through translation. When the verdict was complete, Chapo glanced at his wife Emma Coronel. With tears in her eyes, she flashed him a thumbs up.

    1. People learn of a great story only once it's over but they don't know how it all began. El Chapo's story began when he, his parents, and brothers/sisters would sell produce in the sierraas' de Sinaloa; continued with his rise in the drug trafficking industry, becoming a motorists/ruthless capo in the process; and ends with his extradition to, the land where he trafficked his illegal drugs and made his money from, and conviction, on multiple counts, on charges related to narco trafficking in the U.S.A. His involvement in the drug trade began when it was in it's infancy, and ends, maybe the beginning of the end, with it becoming an multi-billion industry--at the expense of millions of lives. This is the end of JAGL's involvement in the game, however, his legacy will in the game will last forever. Como dijo el compadre El Mayo, " So me atrapan o me agarran nada cambia.". 9. I think Mencho & Co are probably having mixed feeling about this. Yes, Chapo getting sentenced is a cause for celebration, but with his trial over the full focus of the authorities and the media will likely fall on them.

      Delete
    10. Sol Prendido . Correct me if I am wrong but . Didn't chapos guards die for him ? He is gonna live right down from chapo so they can drag "kites" up and down the run with string . They'll lose their line from time to time but in a week or 2 they will re-establish another . Then now and then they will take away all the fabric that they unravel the string from and replace their cloths with paper ones . They will need that string to transport Wariche when Emma stops filling Chapos Commissary account .With me it was always because of disciplinary that I didn't have commissary . Those damn strings . LOL

      Delete
    11. @ 1:00 His guaruras died in vain there. And I’m sure his commissary will never be empty. The guys loaded to the gills in greenbacks. Uncle Sam was dumb enough to think they could actually find it. I hear it’s all been heavily invested with layers upon layers of buffers. So, was the disciplinary action because of pride, withdrawals, or just pain in the ass C.O.’s ? - Sol Prendido

    13. Sol . When you land over on that side it gets easy to get wrote up . Starts out with people stabbing one another because maybe they come from the wrong part of the state or something really important like that . Then comes the lockdown and the johnys . C O s really like lockdown because when they aren't handing out johnys they can kick back . Every case is a major on lockdown . Maybe when they roll the door with the johny you aint posing right .Locked down 24 7 and a shower every couple weeks . All that matter is it looks good on paper for them . I have no animosity toward the C O s . They dealt with real demons on a daily basis . At that particular unit after I left some trustees held a blade to a guards throat in what turned out to be a very publicize prison break . Some of those trustees have since been executed for things they did while on the run . Were 7 in the beginning . One committed suicide when they tried to apprehend them .
