He  is considered one of the main generators of violence in the port; controls the sale and distribution of drugs, as well as kidnappings and extortion.

Elements of the Criminal Investigation Agency arrested Jose Galeana Galeana, "El Tete "Galeana, identified by the federal government as one of the leaders of the Independent Cartel of Acapulco, criminal organization that is a division of the cartel Beltran Leyva.

His capture was  in Toluca, State of Mexico , derived from a search warrant issued by a federal judge to the Attorney General of the Republic, since it is presumed that the "El Tete" Galeana is the coordinator of the criminal group and one of the main generators of violence in the port of Acapulco.

According to the investigations of the Special Prosecutor's Office for the Investigation of Organized Crime, federal officials indicated, "El Tete" Galeana controls the sale and distribution of drugs, as well as kidnappings and extortions, as well as ordering homicides of members of antagonistic groups.

As a result of cabinet and field investigations, federal ministerial police located José in the municipality of Toluca, where he was detained without the use of violence and his rights were respected at all times, and there was no harm to third parties.

During the capture, narcotics, communication equipment and vehicles were also seized. VIDEO :

Three years after being released from prison, despite being considered by the authorities as one of the main criminal leaders that has generated the most violence in the port of Acapulco and other areas of Guerrero, on Wednesday the recapture of José Galeana Galeana was reported. "Tete" Galeana or "El Viejón" , designated as alleged ringleader of the Independent Cartel of Acapulco (CIDA).

It was in February 2013, just in the first quarter of the government of Enrique Peña Nieto, when the federal government reported that after an operation by the Federal Police in the Las Playas de Acapulco subdivision, José Galeana was arrested, along with two other people, to who the Special Prosecutor in Investigations of Organized Crime (SEIDO), indicated for the crimes of kidnapping, homicide, possession of weapons, possession of drugs and organized crime.

The next day, in response to the arrest, some 300 people who identified themselves as alleged friends and family, many of them young people with their faces covered, of whom the PF identified with the nicknames of "El Tete" Galeana or "El Viejón" , blocked with taxis and urban trucks the traffic of Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue, the most important one in the port.

According to the official report, José "El Tete" Galeana was identified as the most active drug trafficker in the port of Acapulco, who would be imprisoned and prosecuted for serious crimes such as organized crime, drug trafficking, kidnapping and extortion.

Despite being accused of crimes of federal order, Galeana was held in Acapulco's minimum security municipal prison, where he was established as one of the main controllers of self-government under CIDA, in which he was accused of coordinating corruption networks and drug trafficking inside the prison.

In June 2015, and without further details of the reason, local media reported that José Galeana managed to get out of prison, which would have generated a new wave of violence in the port of Acapulco in dispute over the plaza.

José Galeana, linked to the criminal organization of the Beltrán Leyva, is the brother of lawyer Jesús Galeana Sánchez, close to former PRI member Ricardo Taja Ramírez, who was the PRI-PVEM's flag bearer in the Acapulco mayor's office and a photo was exhibited in the last elections  where he appeared with Galeana Sánchez.

Today, the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) reported on the arrest of José Galeana, probable coordinator of the Independent Cartel of Acapulco, identified "as one of the main generators of violence in that port", as he was probably responsible for controlling the sale and distribution of drugs, kidnappings, homicides and extortion. The arrest, reported the federal agency, took place in the municipality of Toluca, state of Mexico and was assured doses of narcotic drugs, communication equipment and vehicles.
