GU's El Rana, another central character in the Iguala case...is freed

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat from Reforma
"No evidence and Human rights association recommend his release. His charge of organized crime also dismissed, he says it was a case of mistaken identity"

Citing "lack of evidence"to prosecute for the kidnapping of the 43 missing Ayotzinapa normalistas, a federal judge ordered the release of Erick Sandoval Rodríguez, alias "La Rana". Sandoval will leave the federal prison of Durango in the next few hours.

"Because his responsibility for the crime of kidnapping has not been proven, so far."  The 43 young people disappeared 4 years ago in Iguala, Guerrero, setting off global outrage. Most of the suspects  arrested have been released.
Last month, the First District Judge of Federal Criminal Proceedings of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, David Calderón Blanc, issued him freedom  in the process for the crime of organized crime, as he concluded that it is "not proven" that he is. criminal of Guerreros Unidos, to whom he was  accused  of belonging.

After his arrest, "La Rana" said that the authorities confused him with a person of the same name and nickname who is identified as one of the hit men who shot at the normalistas in the dump of Cocula.
Since then, his defense and even the National Commission for Human Rights (CNDH) have requested that he be released.
