Juan Manuel Mejía Romero, El Juanelo, alleged head of plaza for the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), arrested Thursday in Michoacán, was identified as one of the principal generators of violence in Guanajuato.

According to federal intelligence reports that Milenio consulted, the suspect is in charge of cells of sicarios that dispute with the cartel of Santa Rosa de Lima the control of the theft and sale of fuel from the pipelines of Pemex, as well as drug trafficking.

El Juanelo was responsible for the plaza of Acámbaro, Guanajuato for the cartel of Jalisco that Nemesio Oseguera, El Mencho, heads.

In this municipality a series of executions linked to the group of "huachicoleros" and drug traffickers under the command of Mejía Romero have been registered.

Authorities point out that the night of July 26, 2018 was one of the bloodiest in the municipality as seven people were killed and at least two decapitated.

  1. Someone made a comment some time back about how it defeats the purpose to have the name of your Cartel on your equipment. If you look closely on that first pic you’ll see that it’s nothing more than a Velcro patch. Look up moral patches. These can easily be switched out to represent whatever team you’re claiming. - Sol Prendido

    2. Demonizing anybody is easier if there are "patches", even the army, marinas and polesias wear "patches" to intimidate their civilian victims, and many people know they are the worse evil, goes without asking, they have sentenced themselves with their putas chingaderas all these years, no amount of criminals' patches matches their evil deeds.

    1. I don’t have a horse in this race, but, Meth is probably the highest profit for the Cartels right now. Less labor cost, less transportation fees. No need for South American routes and if you could somehow control the port, the precursor is flooding in. Just my .02 although.

    2. Probably wasn’t running back to Michoacán, the more likely scenario is Juanelo was in Michoacán the whole time, directing his estakas by cell phone. We’ve seen that situation over and over again, where a plaza boss will be captured in an adjacent state. Keeps the jefe de plaza sufficiently insulated from attacks while staying close enough to return to the plaza in case of an emergency.

    3. 5:54 Toltecas were one great Mexican Indian Culture, left us Teotihuacan, la mencha, his people and the Mexican government forces don't have one bricklayer to compete with the Toltec.

    4. Meth makes a lot of money but so does fuel theft and human trafficking there are a lot of things out there that make eaqually or more money by the way CDS has had human trafficking down since forever

    5. Highest profit margin for cartels is huachicol—no transport costs and they don’t even have to make the stuff, they just steal it and sell it. Only real costs are delivery trucks (usually stolen), storage tubs, tools to “milk” the pipe (also stolen), and payoffs to PEMEX employees.

    2. Even the governor is with cjng. What you mean? I don't care if your from there or not but it has little to about which cartel is the favorite if it's not the gov. I went to visit in the border of michoacan and guanajuato last year and there was a lot of talk about cjng but ofcourse most locals don't like outsiders. Only states that let people from other states in are Sonora, chihuahua and Durango. Southern states have more pride and will fight... just saying

    6. Why dk you support Mencho? Do you not see the negative effects drug trafficking has on, at the very least, these two countries? Why cheer him on?

    7. Chema lol menso aint even 80% of Jalisco FOH the tweeker cartel chief will go down by the hands of his own tweeker sicarios im calling it.

    8. 6:48 PM That was in Jan-Feb things change quick. If CJNG got into a shootout with the PF near Jerecuaro then they most likely took control by now everyone aligned and got the memo. That city isn't to far from Morelia where CJNG has near complete control. CJNG is trying to take what the Templarios left. Marro at one time most likly worked with los Temlarios or LFM.

    9. Chema are you nut hugging mencho lol how many years has he been in Veracruz? Jalisco is not even 100% his Michoacan isn't even fully controlled by him either... He has a lot of people but his tweaker crew ain't gonna do nothing he's been taking big hits lately. His "grupo de elite" along with their airsoft gear outnumbered officials in Jerecuaro and they still got their asses handed to em sooooo....😂

  8. No one likes the CJNG here. Everyone hates them. They are the new zetas. Hopefully they gun down mencho like lazcano instead of taking him alive like 40.
