Jalisco tightens security for possible violence after the arrest of El Mencho's wife

Chivis Martinez Borderland Beat Translated and Republished from Reforma

Reforma Drafting 10:46AM: After the arrest of Rosalinda González Valencia, wife of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes "El Mencho", the Government of Jalisco reinforced security by anticipating some reaction from organized crime.

This was confirmed by the Governor of the State, Aristóteles Sandoval, who - through social networks - applauded the action of the federal government in carrying out this capture.

"After the successful operation of federal security forces as part of the #EscudoTitan strategy in Jalisco, we have reinforced security throughout the State, as a preventive measure against any possible reaction of criminal groups," the Governor wrote.

According to the state governor, no violence has been recorded so far; nevertheless, the State remains in coordination with the federal and municipal governments to face any eventuality.

"The report that the Security Coordination Group forwarded to me  is that the State remains calm," he said.

"During the early morning, no violence  was recorded as a response to the operation; we maintain coordinated actions with the Federation and municipalities to preserve order."

Sandoval recalled that this afternoon the Ministry of the Interior will provide information on arrests, for which he asked to ignore rumors and only address information from official accounts and report abnormal situations to 911.

For his part, the state spokesman, Gonzalo Sánchez, assured that the Red Code was not activated in Jalisco and only preventive measures are carried out.

  1. Watch Menchos cartel disband, while the heat is on, they will try to blend in, with normal people, some will hide in caves.

Can this be a strategy to give mencho an alternative to disband and flee with his wealth?
It’s clearly evident that chapos kids are not a security issue nor a priority for government!
One needs to ask why? Is there a favorite crime syndicate to keep operations going?

Let’s look at the facts given and reported by B.B..
1: The Sinaloa Cartel is a muti - billion dollar company moving illegal drugs worldwide.
2: Political influences / infiltration in Mexico’s government offices.
The Sinaloa Cartel has taken hits but not enough to fall.
The only cartel to probably have such resemblance would be The Zetas. Reference to the trafficking / government influence.

    3. the reason why Sinaloa hasnt fell is simply because of its structure. being a federation helps the organization, Chapo was famous but he was simply a brick on the wall, you can knock down a brick but one missing brick wont knock down the wall. One thing that cant be denied is that Sinaloa did lost alot of influence in vertain areas, lost plazas as many of its cells went independent but that doesnt hurt the organization much, certain places are lost while other markets quietly open.

the only cartel that seemed to be a bit structured as CDS is CDG but CDG lacks the unity that Sinaloa has, sinaloa approaches the bussiness as a bussiness meaning sinaloa fights sinaloa until agreements are made and problems are settled while CDG approaches the same issues the way a street gang would, once they have a problem that problem is forever thats why their infight is never ending and im sure their fall will be from within

CJNG like the oter cartels has one visible leader, he doesnt have partners thatbare equal in power as chapo and mayo, power isnt distributed equally within cjng so when mencho falls i doubt cjng will fall it will remain standing yet with no other peron clearly in sight of leadership it will break in factions, those cells outside Jalisco will become independent, Jalisco could become extremely violent as the ciolent cartel falls into deeper internal fighting for leadership.

the only one i believe could keep cjng the same is erick ek 85. he might do so quietly. He might keep it peaceful aswell and i believe he woukd make a better leader than Mencho. When he was in control CJNG was still violent but only when it had to be, its goal wasnt to invade other plazas as it does but to keep jalisco united and safe and it even had a close alliance with Sinaloa.

    6. 12:33 you think you know how cjng operates huh lol so you are saying Mencho is the only leader? Cjng doesn't have a bunch of families that form cjng? Lol ok buddy...

    7. 12:33 when cjng was working with cds, It's when cds was at it's strongest point. I guess you could say cjng was the best thing that happened to cds but now it's their worst nightmare.. They took most of Tijuana and Baja California plaza along with most of cds people who jumped ship. Cjng also has the chemicals to make that tweek and by the looks of it, they are selling it to cds lol cds was the top dogs but there's a new shen sheriff in town.. Pena nieto just acting like he's doing his job, not a big bust at ALL.. Even if they get mencho the cartel will split in two or 3 and the dominant one with take control again

  12. You guys obviously weren't around when the Sinaloa Cartel and President Calderon and 10,000 troops tried to take Juarez for 5 straight years. You have got to be kidding me. These cartels have rich bastards all over involved with them along with high ranking politicians, and even Generals. To think the lug that they have out front's wife gets arrested and a major major drug organization will fold is comical. In fact, y'all need to go back to duper hero comic books.

If that were true he would have been turned over to US authorities long ago. His unexpected release shows the collaboration of something other than just a cog on the wheel.
Rather an alliance with bosses of bosses and generator of wealth.
Mexico’s government is what’s wrong with everything. Political powers and collusion nothing more.

  17. OK all you keyboard cartelistas - why hasn't there been any reaction yet? No helicopters shot down, no gas stations burned, nothing. Because the cartel has been weakened so much it can't retaliate? Or because it's preparing an offensive to be launched by surprise?
