BUSTED: Caballeros Templarios Narco Laboratory Tied to Assassinations of Candidates and Soldiers

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Proceso

Extra Material from: El Sur

Chilpancingo, Gro. Elements of the Army and the Attorney General of the Republic, (PGR) dismantled a clandestine narco laboratory in the town of San José,  Municipaly of Zirándaro , allegedly owned by José Pineda Gonzalez, "El JP",  leader of the Knights Templar, ie Caballeros Templarios, in the Tierra Caliente region in this entity and his brother Francisco Maldonado, "El Chico", who lives on the Michoacan side of the state borderline. They are now considered regional Jefes aligned with CJNG and practice extorsions, kidknapping and drug trafficking; originally coming from of La Familia Michoacana.

The Governor of Guerrero, Hector Astudillo Flores, says these are the same group that assassinated PRI candidate Abel Montufar Flores, the PRD candidate Ambrosio Soto, and responsible for the attacks on the local Coca Cola Plant in Altimira, which has led to its subsequent shutdown and dis-employment of its workers. ( see our recent/previous posts on Gro Coca Cola Plant shutdowns).

The area covers more than two hectares, more than 100 200-liter drums were seized, with chemical precursors such as toluene, ammonium hydroxide, cyanide and acetone, used for the manufacture of methamphetamines.

Important Strategic Location of Puerto Lazaro Cardenas

According to official reports, this synthetic drug is exported to the United States from the port of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, through a criminal networks operating in the regions of Tierra Caliente and Costa Grande, and involving authorities of the three levels of Government and the Army with the Narcos, of which the federal government has been cooking for seven years.

The operation involving soldiers of the 34th Infantry battalion based in Ciudad Altamirano, as well as a special group of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the PGR, was held this morning in the area adjacent to the state of Michoacán, and its purpose was to "dismantle the structure" of the criminal group led by José Pineda or Rodolfo Maldonado Bustos, according to the reports.

The gigantic Pacific Port Facilities of Puerto Lazaro Cardenas and mega shipping plaza for DTO's

The action was taken after the government of Hector Astudillo Flores publicly accused Pineda of being responsible for the execution of the candidate for local PRI deputy in the Tierra Caliente region, Abel Montufar Mendoza, as well as the crime of three soldiers who  guarded  Rancho El Pozo, owned by the Montufar family in Coyuca de Catalán. (See Otis' Post from May 9)

Soldiers Pedro Chavez Gonzalez, originally from Veracruz, Patricio Hernández García from San Luis Potosí and Jaime Bernal Jiménez from Veracruz, died in the attack. Three more were injured and one was unharmed and he was the one who rendered the statement that is in the file.

The attack on the military began at approximately 9 o'clock at night, and according to witnesses around 9:20 another group of soldiers who had fallen behind also arrived at the El Pozo Ranch and managed to hear the shots, which accelerated the march and caught a glimpse of the sicarios running in different directions towards the mountain to escape.

One of the soldiers who testified said he saw between 25 and 30 men dispersed towards the mountain. One of the laggards was "Lucio". The soldier who testified said that his superior ordered him and another of his companions to go for him when they saw that he entrenched himself in the undergrowth and among some trees.

From there they heard that "Lucio N" warned them: "do not approach those bastards because either I fuck them or  they kill me". The military surrounded the area and remained until 6 am the next morning (May 9) when he shouted again: "I surrender, I will declare everything but do not shoot, they will  kill me".

Although Lucio was detained since the morning of May 9, spokesman Roberto Álvarez reported his detention on May 13.

That day, the state government released a photograph of the detainee showing a very young man wearing huaraches with a set of four AK-47 weapon chargers and the AK -47, ie, a Cuerno de Chivo.

In the bulletin he did not inform the day, the time or place where Lucio was arrested.

The judge of Control and Prosecution, Edgardo Mendoza resolved in the hearing of connection to yesterday's process that with the elements provided by the investigating authority, "the probable criminal responsibility of "Lucio" is evidenced" and that there are sufficient elements to link it to the process. He added that the defense of the accused did not present any means of proof to prove his innocence.

At the beginning of the trial, "Lucio N's" the public defender , Jesús Pérez González, said that "the Public Ministry's accusations against "Lucio" are not sufficient or consistent," and asked the judge to take into account the presumption of his innocence, because " it is not proven "that he deprived the three soldiers of their lives.

According to the judge, in addition to the testimony of the witnesses who identified "Lucio N" among the members of the armed group that went to the ranch and attacked the military, there are results of  a test of sodium rhodizonate as a means of proof, which ruled that the detainee had residues of lead and barium in the hands,  and he also said that the characteristics of the injuries received by the dead soldiers coincide with those produced by the weapon that "Lucio N" was carrying when he was arrested.

He was transferred from Tierra Caliente to Chilpancingo to be tried there, because in an office of the undersecretary of the Penitentiary System, Miguel Ángel Orihuela Hernández and another of the Ministerial Police 00683/2018 stated that "there were no conditions for him to remain in Coyuca de Catalan or Arcelia penitenteries because they belong to the criminal group Los Caballeros Templarios".

    1. i feel you bro. michoacano too, is a shame to even read the newspaper in the morning knowing its all going to shit day by day, from my perspective michoacanos are 50/50 in CJNG/LNFM, but i rather they be at a 100 with fuck those two or any other cartel, i was deeply embarrassed and saddened seeing the militias fail with my own two eyes. seeing they were mostly a proxy war between powerful men in the region just wanting to take turf from the templarios.
i wish you safety in your area bro.

    4. 1:23 It seem you don't learn from what you read those guys are not CJNG they are CT,FM. CJNG doesn't send their own people from Jalisco to take control of that region they do business with anyone. What those people decide to do on their territory is their problem not CJNGs.

In the region I lived in the people that work with CJNG don't extort or kidnap. Their have been cases but it isn't the local Organized criminal element that is doing that. On that occasion it turned out it was a former employ and his friends that kidnapped their own boss.

Also from how you worded your comment I can see you are not from Michaocan.

Unless the federal and state government end poverty in Mexico the cartels will always exist as will armed robbery and theft.

    5. thank you all for your comments. I think I can say that for those of us posting here at BB, the situation is heartbreaking, which is our motivation to get the word out. you are not alone in your shame, grief and heartbreak @1:23; the entire world is a corrupt crazy place and many areas of Mexico are no exception. However, we must prevail the perhaps naive notion that good will prevail over evil. I hope for safety for you and yours.

Sad but that is reality these kids are nothing more then cannon fodder because drugs will make it to the u.s. one way or another.

  5. Wow. Genius. And corrupt. Looks like mencho allowed aligance to the CT just to have them do dirty of the dirty work or to pin the dirty of the dirty work on CT. That's genius and with the governments helping hand. They just did multiple high profile murders and washed their hands clean. Now the Feds will hit the remains of the already weak and disorganized CT. And probably the new splintering side of CJNG fighting menchos people. Smoke and mirrors. Menchos CJNG is the armed wing of EPN.

So the marinas came back with the mini gun hunting them down but found ppeople of cjng and lit their ass up. I dont think they killed anybody they just scattred around the mountains to take cover since they allied with ct right now they good up their.

    2. Mencho is no different from Chapo. they both use people and throw them away when they're no longer useful. But it's funny to see the cartel cheerleaders of both sides shake their pom poms everytime a new article is posted on BB.

  6. The drug cartels control pretty much everything in Mexico, from the media and press to business and government. There is really very little freedom for the average person. I know cause i have lived in Mexico, close to border with USA for many years.

    1. @4:25PM What freedoms were you deprived of when you were living here? I have lived here for more than 20 years a little over an hour from the border in the heart of Zeta country and I can't think of any freedoms I have been restricted from exercising. Politics has been controlled by the cartel for a long time but it seems to be lessening. The press is less controlled than just a few years ago. There is some extortion of business but I think a lot of that is local thugs or gangs just looking for an easy buck. They do control a large part of the coal mining (which is largest industry), but other than that and control of drug trafficking is the worst thing happening here and it has little or no effect on the average person.

    2. So Ct are aligned with cjng???

    3. You say the political scene is controlled by the cartels, isn’t that a loss of freedom? The USA Canada border is four thousand miles and the Mexican border is two thousand miles. Which border has more freedom???

    4. 6:48 a lot of these posters have a Breitbart agenda or some sort of anti Mexican sentiments. For example I traveled to a Baltic backpacking tour with a departing connection at Dallas. The border patrol or aduana guard was so hostile and inquisitive about my trip. He couldn't believe I was Mexican because I was white skinned and he just an Asian American who will never travel around the world like me. He wanted to know excactly what my business and form of income was and his boss had to step in because he was wasting everyones time. I bet he was an Alex Jones fan and thought I was some cartel made man. I just smirked at his face while "entering" the USA side .
They don't know that Mexico has the richest Latin American city called San Pedro Garza García. They think all of Mexico is a huge Tijuana bridge or CD Juárez.

      Ignorance is bliss.

    5. dd the reason the average Mexican isn't acutely effected by the war going on in their country is because they aren't in the fight. They just stand by and watch everything going to hell. No pasa nada should be written on their flag. Sin cojones.

    6. Ignorance and hostility, the signs of the Sacred System working with the Truth, business as usual. Let it get to you, and they have won.

    7. Ridiculous comment. Why is every comment on this blog racially or politically motivated as you claim. Mexicans cannot be ethnocentric nor racist? Fact is, most things in life are motivated by money, materialism, and competition. Its really not about the race thing, its about money.

      Delete
    8. @8:26 Chivis has always maintained that apathy of the Mexican people is the cause of most of it's problems. While I don't disagree with her, I maintain that the apathy is built into the culture by 400 years of subjugation. They never had "freedom of speech" that US citizens have always enjoyed. To be silent, not stand up or question authority is so embedded in their culture they could not act otherwise. Change is slow but I think the people have gotten a little taste of freedom from that yoke of oppression and they like it.

    11. Thats not what he id saying. He is saying that it is not racism. Its about the fight for money, social status, materialism. Anybody who competes with you in this endeavor is demonized. In the USA it happened to the irish, the asians black, hispanic etc etc. There ate very few people who are true racists. The saying goes, they are taking our jobs.... Its about money folks. Period.

  10. The biggest cartel in Mexico is their own Government. Depending on PRI or PAN who is in control at the time. The Mexican Government lets certain cartels thrive without much interference from them until election time, then they will throw an up and coming cartel person in prison or transfer them to the USA for extradition (show & do not tell). EPN will be gone soon, Then CJNG will be taking some big blows from what analysts are seeing/hearing. Like Dominoes = cartel members will fall, but someone else will "always" pick them up and set them up, to play again. Can't stop what won't stop. U.S. Intelligence has a lot of information on certain important figures within Mexico, but pretends it does not exist. Example- 43 students(not innocent by the way) are incinerated in a mobile Army crematory/disposed of 100%. Then years later, there are recorded calls from Guerreros Unidos and others (which transcripts have not been released yet as there is sensitive material which is pending). More to come in the near future.com

Just what kind of "person" would say that without proof of anything and denying the true historic lies of the Mexican government to that interfered, obstructed and terminated the investigations on top of collusion with army, marinas, soldiers, police, their commanders, directors, and generals to hide evidence and obscure facts?
You playing dumb won't save the Mexican criminals in government

  11. The guerreros unidos do NOT disappear people by mobile incinerators, that is the Mexican armed forces, marinas, Policia Judicial Federal, secret service, CISEN, but more important is the fact that the guerreros u idos did not stop the independent investigators and kicked them out of Mexico to ki their investigation
--AND THE GUERREROS UNIDOS did not hide the C4 communications, videos, memos and recordings from the operation...
Let's stop playing pendejo possum for the pinche goobierno de mierda.

  13. 2:43 Go to Mazatlan. It's tranquilo right now. Or Puerta Vallarta. Where ever you go stay out of the clubs at night and away from dark places. If you're driving always leave some space between you and the car ahead of you so if there's a problem you have room to get out of there. Don't use ATM's on the street and always have someone with you when using one. Don't flash money. Don't tip big. Don't trust the locals just be respectable.
