Hooded individuals arrived in two vans and opened fire on the facilities of 150 hectarea horse ranch "La Providencia" , located at Kilometer 87 of the Zaragoza-Monterrey highway; in Ejido San Cayetano in the Municipality of Guemez, Tamaulipas, according to witness statements at 8:40 am.
The armed comando aboard two SUVs attacked the ranch registered in the name of Eduardo Rodríguez Berlanga, "La Conga", presumed associate of former PRI Tamaulipas Governor Tomás Yarrington Ruvalcaba, where they riddled a worker and at least 17 horses quarter horses with AK 47's.
The Ranch property is estimated to be worth $300,000 and in reality the property of the Former Governor of Tamaulipas. Tomas Yarrington who is being held in an Italian jail accused of money laundering and organized crime charges.

Upon arrival, authorities found the body of a tied man riddled with bullets who presumedly was the caretaker of the ranch, although he carried no identification or belongings. Sedena confirmed that shell casings were found at various locations and no one was detained.
Expert services from the Tamaulipas Attorney's Office cordoned off the perimeter of the property to collect evidence and remove the body.
PGR of Tamaulipas State has opened an investigation.

Conga former sidekick to former governor Yarrington, was arrested by the PGR and charged with money laundering for/with Yarrington.. He was held for only 80 days.
Supposedly, he gave up information against Yarrington and agreed to bear witness in court in exchange for release.
This attack was sending a message to Conga.
Seems plausible.
Yarrington was arrested by April 2017 in Italy by interpol

ReplyDeleteIts sad to say it but I think you're right. Any loss innocent life should be mourned, its sick what these scum are getting away with. Its time the UN and all the other countries got involved and helped put mexico back together. Without corruption in government, police and army the cartels wouldn't grow to be so powerful. Between that and better drugs prevention, education and rehabs in all countries every country would benefit.
DeleteMany of us are outraged by both animal and human killing when it's senseless. Remember that when people are killed, others may believe the inevitable police statement/community statement that "those were drug dealers anyway". (I don't believe this is true most of the time, and even if the victims were drug dealers or thieves, the penalty for their crime shouldn't always be death.) But it's easy to see when an animal was killed for no apparent reason that it was innocent, so you see more outrage.

If they are killed senselessly or non-humanely for NO reason, that's a problem. Of course, there's a lot of that going on in this shitty world these days. If two people I knew for a fact were murderers shot each other, I'd shrug and feel okay. Everyone is innocent to me until proven guilty, though. So if random people, ANY child under 18, or any animal gets killed, I get upset. If I'm upset at animal killings, it doesn't mean I don't care about people getting killed - they're not mutually exclusive. However, I know that animal and child killings get more outrage. It's because they are absolutely known to have nothing to do with the mess they were thrown into and paid the price for. When adults are killed, sometimes we can negotiate the extreme sadness and put it out of our minds by thinking maybe they were involved with serious crimes. I try not to think like this, though.
