Juarez: Barrio Azteca hit man arrested, suspected in 30 killings

Republished by Chivis from El Paso Times

Juárez police said they arrested an alleged hit man for the Barrio Azteca gang suspected in 30 killings, including a triple homicide at a barbershop last week.

The arrest took place after a shooting that killed three people and wounded another Friday outside a barbershop on Mesa Central street in southeast Juárez, police said.

Oscar Ernesto A.G., alias "El Karin," was arrested following a car chase after witnesses told police that the shooters had fled in a white Chevrolet Malibu.

Police said they found an AK-47 rifle, a .45-caliber handgun and about a pound of marijuana in the car.

The 34-year-old man allegedly told police that he was a member of a gang hit squad and that the victims were in a rival group selling crystal methamphetamine out of the barbershop, a police news release states.

Police said that the alleged gang member told police that he had taken part in the killing of more than 25 gang rivals this year.

The Chihuahua attorney general's office said that the man is suspected in 30 homicides in Juárez and Chihuahua City, including the deaths of two police officers.

In a separate case Saturday morning, police arrested a woman in west Juárez allegedly transporting three AR-15 rifles in a suitcase for the Azteca gang.

The 19-year-old woman allegedly told police that her husband is a Barrio Azteca gang member and that the firearms were to be used in attacks on gang rivals in west and south Juárez.

There have been more than 500 homicides in Juárez this year believed to be linked to violence over street-level meth sales.

    2. Hel no they ain't soft! In Juarez there are no Geneva convention type rules and shit for prisoners. Cops torture the confessions out of you. Electric shocks, kicks to the groin, fingernail with pliers etc...
These guys now what awaits them if apprehended so might as well make it a little less hazardous for his own health and admit to a few deaths than keep totally quiet and suffer tremendously. You would do the same also tough guy!

Eñe = Nuestra Familia/Norteños = Northern California Mexican

Eme = Mexican Mafia/Sureños = Southern California Mexican

Get it now? It's Cali gangbanging and not some Mexican cartel or Hollywood shit.

    18. @7:00 only fuckin Cali people would glamourize street thugs and drug user enes or emes like you just did. Then also try and compare them with real organized crime groups like Aztecas and cartels. Open your eyes! People in this story and cartels are the ONES that are not Hollywood!!!

    20. @7:00 It doesnt matter. Both are pieces of shit that deserve to burn in eternal hell!! Cali gangs are a bunch of pu$$ies that cant fight on their own. Bunch of chihuahuas that will only fight you with 11 of their "home boys". Any pu$$y can use a gun but real men use their fists.

When somebody needs killing it is not about giving them an even break, they will prolly use their guns on you if they have a chance, I will walk away from trouble all the time, but believe me, I am praying that you will follow me home...

    23. @11:48 I'll walk away as well. Now days road rage is just as bad. You cant even cut someone off without the fear of being followed or retaliated against. Driving home one night this car in front of me was going really slow so out of frustration I passed them up but I had accelerated so that I could pass them along with another few vehicles. Well that car started speeding up and flashing their lights at me so I sped up even more and so did they. They chased me for a few blocks until I was able to bust a U fast and the furious style lol Next day I heard about a shooting involving a vehicle that looked exactly like the one chasing me. Being chased by an SUV with 3 guys inside really ruined my trip to Wendys :S

    24. Chill Chill Chill people. I am 7:00am and first off I'm not from California nor do I glamorize gang life. I live deep in the heart of Barrio Azteca turf in West Texas. I know what I know because of 15 years of police and corrections. I felt you youngsters needed alittle education on shit you don't understand. You never know who is commenting on these subjects so beware and take heed with your manners. You Youngsters are so quick to type out a comment like you are some Billy badass but your breath still smells like your momma's titty milk. GTFOH

    25. All I know is that out here in CALI, or at least LOS ANGELES Mexicans/HISPANICS are not messed with, could be the LIBERAL artsy type that migrate here and set up roots, or it could be that over the years they've learned that, we are simply hard working people seeking a better life , but when provoked or cornered we don't FAWK around.. I love all gods people . Live and let live, do on to others as you'd like others to do on to you.. that and I'm equally racist / prejudice against all races.. gang bangers are simply uneducated wise guys, eager to make a statement, mainly the ones who never found they're nichè I.e baseball/football/science.. I grew up in HIGHLAND PARK early 90's all the homeys knew each other as kids the ones who were athletes or distinguished positively were given a "PASS" you could chill but never get jumped in, they would not sweat us we Knew what they did and stayed away, there was no PEER PRESSURE..to join, plus they were doing some CREEEZY ass shit.. as far as Emily (eMe) is concerned , here in LA myates, peckerwoods, even paisas know better that if you do some wrong stuff to a Mexican or a Mexican family and get caught, you will suffer tremendously, that's why MAYATES show respect when out in the streets, and know who runs shit.. I hope future generations focus more on the positive side of our culture and become educated and seek better positions in society, as I'm teaching my daughter to be a positive person, despite all this GANG talk it's still USA the best country on earth, anything is possible here if you put your heart into it. It's what you personally chose to do.. love y'all desde HP LOS ANGELES, puro MICHOACAN

  2. It is apparent that it is not just the USA that is responsible a lot of the killings in Mexico because of their drug use as some people say. 500 homicides this year over street level drug use just in Juarez. The other post says that Mexico City has 20,000 tiendas that are selling street level drugs. How many killings are coming out of that as well as pother parts of Mexico. I think Mexico needs to take more of the blame. I see the amount of drugs being sold and used here in Chihuahua. Just the other day 14 people shot in a drug rehab program. Gangs fighting for corners to sell their drugs. Just like in the USA you see the street gangs killing each other over drugs. Mexico definitely has a drug problem just like seemingly most of the world does. Yes I am an American living in Mexico, but I am not blind or stupid either. January to June, 365 killings took place in Ciudad Juarez alone. So if this article is right it is almost entirely killings from street level sales. When they buy a plaza it is mainly so they can kill, extort, kidnap, sell drugs and do things to Mexican citizens without being arrested, as the officials and police are paid off to wreak havoc on the it's citizen's. Mexico needs to look in the mirror and quit putting the blame on everyone else.

    4. @8:37 Fucking difference is that a street corner in Juarez also means more ability to have stash houses within the area to also move those stashed drugs into the U.S. giving cartels the opportunity to aquire even more $$$! Border cities is prime real estate for that. Eliminating rivals in Juarez also gives would be criminals only one cartel option to work for letting that cartel have more cheap labor to make money both within the city and through trading within the U.S. Just one kilo of coke sent into the U.S. can triple or more the same kilos earnings made in Juarez.
So the U.S. is greatly responsible for what happens in Mexico regardless of your logic.

    5. 3:37. I did not say they do not have any influence. But it in the end it is the Mexicans killing Mexicans. You could not get me to kill anyone for any amount of money. It is just that many people blame it all on America. Did you read the article. It was not about sales across the border. It is about street sales in Mexico. Most of the killings if you read the article are not caused by Americans buying if you can add and subtract. So I guess you do not believe the article? Now do not get off track.

    6. Who is desperate to assign blame?
Not the victims of violence in cd Juarez "NEVADA" güey.
the reality is that the US subsidizes the mexican government from where all this shit emanates and rolls down hill, since the end of WWII, "to keep German spies and russian communism away from the US back door".
Since then, the US has elected and selected who rules mexico, for how long and for how much, and who trafficks drugs or launders money and benefits with the bread crumbs or the table scraps, depending on the bossmen's greed.
--Volcanos lava flow from the center of the earth,
--Bullshit rolls down from the high corridors of power,
--the mexican narcos and sicarios are chump change there.

    1. Its safe to say that the police officers were probably more corrupt than this guy probably even more massmurderous....just saying...you have to have some perspective....my cousin is wanted in chihuahua for killing an officer but what they fail to mention is that the cops were attempting to steal his truck....you can’t look at what is happening in Mexico like if it were happening in the USA....different circumstances, apples and oranges

      Delete
    2. 6:03 a lot depends on who was governor when your cousin killed the "police officer", who was he and if he was a state or municipal or just a private security deputized to rob and steal for cesar duarte "el capulina" or for javier corral the new governor, who may give your cousin a presidential pardon, check it up, governor Corral needs to form his own FUERZA DELICTIVA ESTATAL or a genuine state police, that really delivers.

There is always a purpose in life my friend. Despite having a religious background in life. I cannot preach a word of such. Rather haven educated myself to truth. All I can say that there is a God. However, his mind if fixed upon greater things that we cannot comprehend. And not that of the miseries and turbulence of human lives.
We are a destructive breed. Nevertheless, this should not hinder us from becoming the true nature of humanity.
      Peace!

Also saludos to your other half from the other side.

    5. Andrea Castilla, was killed a friend of our family and but for a sinus infection my daughter would have been with her friends in vegas at the festival. 3 others were shot. the one having the worse time is her best friend who hates Aldean and left 5 min early, and the friends she was just dancing with were shot by a monster.

BUT I really cringe when I hear people saying "what has our country come to?" because of one person? I look past the monster and see dozens if not hundreds of people who were themselves safe, yet ran back in to save complete strangers. Some giving their life in the effort. THAT is the goodness and unusual quality of my country. A help others mentality, rare in other places is the norm in the United States.

  10. Newspapers are saying this guy captured here might soon be released from prison. The thing is he was captured not commiting any act of crime itself but juat under weapons charges. Even though he is said to be a leader of at least 250 hitmen he is not directly linked to any kolls himself and possibly had no arrest warrants for him. Juat though people should know!

  11. I hate to correct the author of this article but the Barrio Aztecas are the gang members north of the US and Mexican border. The gang members south of the border are Aztecas. Both are employed by Nuevo Juarez but the titles are what distinguishes the two gangs from each other. If this guy is a Mexican resident then he is an Azteca.
