Guanajuato: 7 Dead in commando attack including 4 police officers (video)

Thank you Tu Fren... from Proceso

CELAYA, Gto.- Seven people, including four municipal police, a Transit employee and two employees of a gas station, were riddled by bullets, when armed  individuals aboard four pickup trucks attacked in Apaseo el Alto.

Around midnight Monday, at a gas station located at the corner of Daniel Ángel Ortega and Guadalupe Mandujano streets,   four Tahoe trucks arrived with a large group of men with long guns, who began the gun assault.

The employees managed to throw themselves on the floor. However, several members of the command approached and shot the two in the head, they died at the scene.

Two local police officers on patrol arrived, alerted by a call that informed them of the gunfire, but were received with gun blasts  and also died at the gas station.

The agents were identified as Mario Patiño Núñez and Uriel Alejandro Carbajal. A private security guard was injured.

Subsequently, at least two of the aggressors' trucks drove to Avila Camacho Street and reached a  guardhouse of the Municipal Police, which they blasted with gunfire.

An employee of Municipal Transit who was in the interior was hit by bullets and died instantly.  The woman, was identified as Irma Guadalupe Durán Durán,

Following these murders and the kidnapping of the two preventives - Gelasio Martinez de la Cruz and Joel Lara Paredes - an inter-municipal operation was implemented with the support of state and federal agents..

However, at seven Tuesday morning, the bodies of the two abducted police were located, discovered riddled with bullets, on the Acámbaro-Parácuaro road.

  6. Could the Tahoes be tracked by satellite surveillance from US authorities even though the attack was at night? When cops are killed like this re they usually dirty with the rival cartel? Why would they kill these 2 gas pumpers? This sick.

  10. The bodies where found on the exact same spot that a few years ago a sicario from the region was kill. Carretera paracuaro- acambaro. The now deceased sicario was wanted in Chicago. This area was control by the zetas... now they're dropping like flies.

  11. The gas pumpers were probably estacas/lookouts for a rival cartel. People don't kill just to kill

  12. These incidents have been going on in Guanajuato, especially near the border with Michoacán and Jalisco, for at least the last year. CJNG is using Zeta style terror, executions and explosive devices. They seem to really like home made explosive devices, even in gringo San Miguel. I think in this area it's about pipeline theft, control of meth corridors, and train robberies. New style.

    1. Tu Fren, are CJNG pushing out Zetas or Zeta-linked independent contractors like that Bukanas guy? What group controlled Guanajuato before the CJNG invasion?

    2. My family is from a small rancho from Michoacan a few miles from guanajuato and my mom told me the violence is bad like never before. Dead People never seen before getting dumped off around there with the skin on their face missing and stuff like that. Crazy

    3. CJNG is moving in all over Guanajuato. The area nearer Jalisco and far north Michoacán around Lake Cuitzeo was previously controlled by Templarios. As you move closer to Querétaro, Los Zetas used to control that area. Celaya and Los Apaseos was the old divide, and that's the area that's seen the worst violence recently.

  13. Why execute gas station workers? Cause Mencha is weak. He nevet took on Chapo directly, because he was scared stiff. Just like he is of the PGR and the Mexican Navy. All his attacks on law enforcement and against his enemies are ambushes. One sided affairs that garner no respect. What a chump.

  14. Mexico is rapidly becoming a narco state, with widespread government corruption and cartels with unseemingly ruthless power, it will take an unprecedented effort to turn things around....things are a lot worse than people think....alot of the taxi drivers in Mexico must give a weekly quota just to stay alive.....along with many other businesses, when well the people finally just get totally fed up with this lifestyle? have they just thrown in the towel, just accepted as part of life??? So damn sad........

As only 10 per cent of people are affected by narco violence, the other 90 don't really care.

    1. Drones would be more effective against any convoy of killers in remote areas where access is very limited, but mexicans don't have the equipment.

    2. 9:07 drones have killed thousands of innocent people, specially on the arab world.
--in mexico helicopters have attacked innocent travelers, some in tamaulipas, because their truck "looked like a narco truck...", others fell to the ground because of poor flyig shape or lack of fuel, and others were used to do the Tanhuato Crime of State...

  19. those cops got caught slipping, which means they were comfortable. the AK started blasting about ten feet before it was alongside the police vehicle. in a wartime mentality, a person would keep a finger on the trigger, especially if they're cops and allowed to carry the gun legally. that or they thought it was their cartel team driving up. as for the gas station attendants, maybe they were lookouts, maybe not. it could have just been a new guy on the team wanting to get another kill on his belt. he killed him because he could, and hasn't killed enough to get bored with it; or to enhance his reputation as coldblooded. just my two cents, and probably way off

  20. Cartels usually don't launch attacks on municipal police unless that municipality is accepting bribes from a rival cartel and is not willing to convert to the "new sheriff in town". plata o plomo...

  24. To the reader who sent text of manta:
    1. I found two others from CJNG. I will write a post on the story of CJNG in GTO causing the conflict/violence as they are pushing Z and others out.

    2. everyone: this is cjng in action. and they warn the public not to go out at night and not allowing their children to go alone. or they will be dismembered the same as their enemy. etc etc. they say they are from CULIACAN SINALOA.

    3. I recall some years ago, maybe 5 or so when similar mantas appeared in the coahuila town of my main offices, but was from chapo to z's. telling us not to wear black and stay in at night etc. for one week as they clean. there was violence but Zs stayed in control.

    4. social media, people in the streets say the gasolina employees are innocents, having nothing to do with organized crime

also pin the blame of that attack "on authorities" but do not specifically define who.

It is very difficult getting news. I don't have sources in GTO, and it has sparked almost no interest outside its borders. It is like Gro and Iguala. Ignored as hundreds killed and countless narco fosas began dotting the landscape for a few years, people begging for help and no one cared, until one September night in 2014 when the devil came to Iguala and 44 students were killed. one left at the scene and 43 taken. it was then the world knew what had been happening. GTO seems to be in the same position.

    3. I just read an article that cds is trying to take over guanajuato and signed as gente de guzman with manta in jul 2 2017. Looks like cds wants menchos cake too, they are in colima but not making any progress. I wonder if it's menchitos or guano, i doubt it's mayo.

    4. I spoke with old but close friend in Irapuato last night from Celaya and he's cousins work in the grey/black market area in Celaya. My friend says to me the gasolineras were part of crime group and there are only two gangs and one group pretends they are from Sinaloa to intimidate other. He also said similar killing happened in small town few miles from Celaya between same groups. His cousins and family in Celaya say this is very new to area but that the people are safe at day and night but to be smart they drive with window down and no black windows, not many men in one car at night. He also says he's cousins know of group that say they are with CDS but they only steal the name to scare their challenger. This is what my friend say - I trust him because he does not talk too much and he is quiet professional contador.
