Matamoros Tamaulipas: Narco Camp Discovered

Translated and republished from Reforma

Elements of the Army discovered an area used to train members of organized crime, used as well  for the amoring and cloning of vehicles in Matamoros.

The National Defense Ministry (Sedena) reported the finding as occurring on Thursday, when military personnel assigned to the Eighth Military Zone carried out patrols in the southeast sector of the city after receiving an anonymous complaint.

As soldiers moved in on the site, criminals blocked their passage by hurling ponchallantas (tire spikes) to avoid military intervention.

At the site, the agents found several abandoned buildings and training areas used for the training of members of the crime organization.

Seized in the operation  was a total of 13recent model  vans, two of them with armor, one with cloned distinctions of the Secretary of Marina and another with emblems of the federal Police, in addition to two automobiles.

A 7.62 mm machine gun, capable of  high volume of fire, was also seized, as were six long arms, 15 Kevlar helmets, (thanks for correction) 88 weapon carriers, cartridges of different calibers, three armored vests and tactical equipment.

A garage was located inside the facility that was equipped as a workshop, where apparently armor and repair work was conducted on vehicles.

  1. The manufacturers of SUVs make bank from the cartels. I wonder how many SUVs the Ford, GMC, etc. dealerships in Culiacan, Monterrey, TJ, Whore-ez sell every month. Huge replacement market for all those SUVs confiscated, blown up, wrecked, etc.

    3. 99.99% of all vehicles and SUV's are stolen. Cartels do not buy or purchase anything disposable when they can carjack and murder to obtain without cost except the human lives they waste when they obtain said vehicle(s).

    4. Buy them? Jajaja more like strong arm citizens and steal their trucks. in tamps marucheros love stealing late model cars with americana placas regardless if someone driving or parked. In nuevo laredo you think cdn bosses are spending 360,000 pesos for a new tahoe so a estaca of four inexperienced teenage sicarios can cruise in? In jalisco, menchos just recently robbed a ford dealership of dozens of cars, cartels aint buying shit, average sicario gets 100 a week and a new stolen suv

    2. The reason no cartel responded is because CJNG is a joke , they just want to heat up the plaza for the other cartel that already control there , but will be taken out quietly
