Luis Macedo: One of the 10 FBI's Most Wanted / Apprehended in Mexico

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Noticieras Televisa

Aug 28, 2017

After eight years of evading justice, Chicago's Luis Macedo , who was on the FBI's list of 10 most wanted fugitives, is now in custody, announced Michael J. Anderson, a special agent in charge of the FBI's field office In Chicago.

Through a statement it was announced that Luis Macedo was apprehended on Saturday, August 26, 2017, without major incident in Guadalajara, Jalisco, by Mexican immigration agents in that state in close coordination with the FBI aggregate from the United States Embassy in Mexico City.

Macedo was placed on the list of the 10 most wanted fugitives in May 2016. Macedo is in FBI custody and will be turned over to local authorities upon arrival in Chicago.

Macedo's last known address was Oak Lawn, Illinois. Macedo, 29, is wanted for the murder on May 1, 2009 of 15-year-old Alex Arellano, who was brutally beaten, shot and then set on fire by alleged members of the Latin Kings street gang. 15 year old Alex refused to throw up the Latin King crown upon demand.

On July 21, 2009 Macedo was indicted on a first-degree murder charge at the Cook County Circuit Court. A federal arrest warrant for evasion of justice was issued on May 27, 2010 in federal court in Chicago.

"The heinous and violent acts committed by Luis Macedo and his bad decision to evade justice are the reasons for which the FBI established the list of ten most wanted," said FBI special agent in Chicago Michael J. Anderson. "The FBI will continue to devote all the resources necessary to bring dangerous individuals to justice."

Macedo's quest was coordinated with the FBI's violent crime task force in Chicago, made up of special FBI agents, Chicago police detectives, and investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Macedo was the suspect number 507 to be added to the list of ten most wanted established in 1950.

More information about Macedo and the list of 10 most wanted fugitives can be found on the FBI website.

    1. Latin Queers are well know to be connected with thr mexican dto's. Not just them other players like: TwoSix, La Raza,Latin Saints, Latin Counts, 12th Players help distribute for the mexican dto's. Chicago is a war zone for the corner sells and its been like that for over 40 years. Its kinda like a culture for lower income and middle income hispanic neighborhoods.

    2. I can see your from Chicago.
I do find it somewhat offensive of the stereotype lower class / middle class Hispanics being the culprits.
Note; we all have opinions I can respect that. However, majority of the suppliers are well off( financial). It's those individuals that push garbage to individuals to do their business. While sitting untouched and pretty. Most hispanics are hard good working and family oriented.
Choices which many of different races and ethnicity engage in.

  5. Latin King . Yea right . These low lives call themselves kings . JA JA JA . Evil little COCK ROACH . There is a upside to this though . He will get to do his time in administrative segregation because he seems to be a confirmed gang member . If not he will be before the trial is over . Give this cockroach the remainder of his life in segregation . You cant take a cockroaches life for a decent persons life and call it fair . Not justice but the punishment he deserves .

By the way chicago gangs have some wierd names; reminds me of the warriors alot.

  8. What does "refused to throw up the latin kings crown" mean?

    1. In Chicago it means if you ain't from a rival gang throw up the crowns(or other gang sign ) If you don't they take it disrespectful and they think
      you're from a rival gang..

    2. The kid probably hanged out or belonged to the Latin King gang. He was then asked to throw up the gang sing and if he refused that is the reason he was murdered. Most gang members in Chicago know who is who specially in their turf. They won't ask you to throw a gang sign if you don't associate with them or don't dress or look like a gang member. This dress like gang members can include wearing colors and or sports teams jerseys other than local teams attire.

  9. So they shot a 15-yr-old kid because he wouldn't join the Latin Kings? Why force anyone, much less a kid, to join a gang? Unbelievable... R.I.P.

    1. No.they were thinking the kid was from a rival gang he refuse to trow up crown

    2. They knew he was from a rival gang so they tried to humiliate him by making him throw up the lating king gang sign. He was no punk though, he had ❤. Most would have thrown up the 👑 to evade an a$$ whopping lol. Mr OG

  13. Gangs are the #1 factor for most of the senseless killings in the US. Perfect example Chicago.
Kids stay in school. Do not follow such idiots as this individual. Life can be beautiful or hell depending on what choices one makes.

  22. Interesting story about another top ten FBI figitive caught in Guadalajara a few years back I believe, Jose Saenz aka smiley from Los Angeles. He killed 3 people in the 90's before disappearing to Mexico only to surface again on video killing another man in Cali in the 2000's. Google Jose saenz east la hitman trained by Mexican cartels, very interesting story and great read

  23. When will they ever clean up that drug dealing infested sewer of Chicago . Enough is enough . Something just isn't right about that town and its leaders . It seems that when somebody was trying to slow the flow from the southern border , Eric would go against them. If Donald helps get a grip on this gang problem.....

    1. Chicago has its reputation for being in the spotlight recently. However, there is no stopping gangs anywhere. Just like organized crime in the world. Like any other city and country unwanted behavior from associations will always exist.
Nevertheless, a beautiful city. Unfortunately, everything begins from home. Lack of parental guidance and mentoring.
As for the drug dealing infestation of a city?
Drugs are everywhere. Can assure its in your neck of the woods ! You just need to 👀.

  24. Totally agree!
Don't believe they know what it feels like to work day after day and earn honestly. The rewards of an honest living. And helping communities and those striving to making ends meet.
I myself do regularly provide my job skills to those in need for no charge. Along with materials. It's only right to give back and extend such blessings to make a difference in communities or those in need.
The rewards are priceless than monetary.

  26. Like many youths today in American society.
No guidance and lack of disciplinary actions from parents. Morals and values are misguided to the street life than home and education.
