El Babay threatens to augment the violence in BCS after the death of his lawyer

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a Zetatijuana article

Subject Matter: El Babay, Abraham Cervantes Escareaga
Recommendation: No prior subject matter knowledge required

Reporter: Zeta BCS
On Thursday morninig the 24th of August, a narco manta appeared in the children's playground of Marcelo Rubio in the Las Arboledes colonia, in the Town of La Paz, Baja California Sur. The signature corresponds to Abraham Cervantes Escareaga, alias "El Babay".

The manta appeared just about 24 hours after the execution of the ex Deputy Attorney General of the Office of the Attorney General for Justice in the state (PGJE), in the fraccionamiento Juarez, he was the defence lawyer for El Babay, who was arrested on the 19th of June and transferred to the offices of SEIDO on the 27th of the same month.

The manta appeared hanging on the school site located in the streets of Marcelo Rubio and Colima, it was around 08:00 am that it was discovered by members of joint command, who attended the scene.

The narco manta makes reference to "I am locked up but not dead", in addition it makes a direct threat against security elements of the PGJE that operated with him, making clear his anger though he remains behind bars.

Within the threat, it also addressed a "former collaborator and former compadre", Rene 00, in which he clearly states that "I am against you".

In the analysis made by a Military officer, he points out that in recent events in which it seems that the same group is eliminating operators from the same criminal cell.

However, officers from different corporations attached to the Public Safety Coordination Group have denoted a notable fracture in the criminal cell that operates for the CJNG.

In the closing of the manta message, they mention that there will be more violence between criminal groups disputing the plaza, the message is signed " your ex friend El Babay".

Experts of the PGJE, analyzing the text and the weapons that took the life of the former Deputy Attorney General correspond to weapons used in other killings, to get a clearer interpretation.

    2. Too much energy involved in that scenario. Rather pull the trigger! Move on to the next in line. Meets humanitarian standards!

    3. He's guaranteed to have protection on the inside if he feels comfortable enough to hang a manta. These cell leaders must have more than a couple loyal sicarios in prison.

    4. 9:00 who would be pleading guilty in a signed narco-manta when he is in prison?
to me it looks more like the perps are doing their best to get el babay in even deeper shit than he is already

  3. I seems the govt is in control, they allow cells to fracture and split, letting the warring factions kill each other off, so that the current preferred operatives remain in power.
Classic counterintelligence tactics learned over the years create a climate of distrust within cartel structures, causing them to continually self destruct.
This works against the autodefensas as well. The winner always 'appears' to be the gov't because they are the keepers of the laws of the land, thus saving the general populace from anarchy.
I am almost getting bored of this neverending story. I want something else but all they serve me is garbage, and since i am hungry, I eat!
Keep up the good work BB. This blog is not garbage. Even tho its kind of depressing its far better than what passes for journalism on most mainstream US outlets.

    1. "I want something else but all they serve me is garbage, and since I am hungry, I eat." Well said 9.22am why don't we try to make our own food, since we're all hungry- we depend on govnmt for our peace and justice, is there anything we can do about that, what I'm trying to say is government will only govern, that is why they are government. For peace and security and justice we need more than to just sit and be "governed".

    2. Government is always in control. Depends on who they wish to serve. Money buys you immunity from prosecution. Moreover, freedom without interference to continue to wreak havoc. While citizens reap the consequences.

  5. Who gives a f@ck! Same old sh!t, just another day. The problem is that no one wants to discuss the source of the problem (in specifics, not passing glances)... you simply want to share these symptoms, which makes you part of the problem. Why do i say this, read the comments from the Narco wannabes or the Narcos themselves. This is not journalism, its poorly written, and edited BS. And the "narcos" writing these Mantas are like little boys having a pissing contest. Unfortunately for the people of Mexico, its in their backyard. We have the same issues in the poppy-fields of Afghanistan (Narco = Taliban), but we (The Free World) call them terrorist. Call these narcos what they are... Terrorist!!! Stop f#cking around!

    1. You do make a valid point.
These cartels are no different from Terrorists!
Question is? Why have they not been categorized as such? Can it be because there's a political element behind this?
Nevertheless, a continuous criminal practice and violence.

    4. El Pollo was just a jefe de plaza en Zamora. I wouldn't take the news of the capture of JUST ONE plaza chief as a sign that the entire organization in that state is on the decline. Maybe El Pollo pissed off the wrong higher-ups in CJNG or simply just served his purpose in the grand scheme.

  20. Why does the Mexican government put up with such unwanted individuals? Why do they permit terrorists actions to go unpunished? Hindering the safety and tranquility of its citizens?
If such threats were to occur in the US from such individuals. Guaranteed death sentence by law enforcement. No ifs nor butts!
    Moreover, justified!
