Tijuana: In midst of relentless violence, human head found on Avenida Internacional

Human head found on Avenida Internacional

As violence grips the city, another severed head was found on Avenida Internacional this afternoon, shutting down traffic and generating a large mobilization of police.  A suitcase, found in front of the PRI offices, contained a severed human head.  There is no reports on the victim, or the rest of his limbs, or torso.  On Saturday, another body was found stuffed in a suitcase, on Pacifica Boulevard.

In a grim bit of irony, the photo displaying the scene, shows a traffic sign for Revolucion looming above a decapitated head, cut with a machete, or strong knife, pressed into the neck until it cuts through the bones and veins, blood spurting from the wounds.  Revolucion, where Tijuana has seen a resurgence in recent years, as locals and US citizens cross to party and socialize in bars and clubs, which are higher end, and lower in price then the ones across the border.

Revolucion also includes Zona Norte where bands of retails cells, including families, have waged a bloody war for control, since the execution of Luis Manuel Toscano, El Mono, a Colima native, who maintained power for years, despite numerous arrests.  Elements of Los Aquiles, and Los Toscanos, and the CTNG vie for control of the lucrative area.  Public executions, bodies and mantas dropped off have become a normal part of life in the area.

Near pure, very cheap crystal, and highly cut cocaine are sold in wraps in La Zona, which fuel the 24 hour party scene of the nightclubs and Zona De Tolerencia, including clubs like Hong Kong.  The retail business used to be the gringos, and still maintains a market share, but the crystal meth has become a local business, infecting the neighborhoods, with venereal disease like spreading.

Violence has flowed through the city, blood and rain soaked streets, on the heels of a storm, over the last week.  There were 4 attacks just tonight.  A man shot in Zona Rio days ago.  Another killed in a bar, La Cueva De Peludo.  A man found entambado, stuffed in a grey trash can, on Calle Coahuila.  A severed human leg tossed onto the street in Zona Centro, Cinco De Mayo.  A man's body dropped off, in Colonia Matamoros, a rope around his neck, his body barely recognizable, burnt black all over, charred skin flicking off the corpse.

  1. Could this have been a message to the offices of PRI ? A group making it very clear to stay away? Or submit?
Definitely a meaningful way to get ones attention. Would you not agree? Someone is working with rivals in that office and are put on notice. Like Trump stipulates! Ha.

  2. If there are so many cells fighting for the local drug market, why doesn't a bigger fish, the main cartel who controls the border and who smuggle into the US get them in line? Or are these bodies and killings related to the bigger cartel getting these cells in line?

    1. we will never know the truth. serial killers do the work alone. could this be a serial killer? nothing about cartels? the police says one thing case closed. The abduction of humans for organs is very well and alive all over the world.

  4. Thank you for this article. I read BB for this type of reporting. I truly can't stand the political tone of some recent articles, "A Nations Disgrace" being the most recent. "J"- if you kept to reporting actual events, instead of regurgitating your personal agenda, your work would be enjoyable.

  5. 8.29 thats a good question. the main cartel who runs tijuana (arellanos) allow this for a number of reasons. but mainly to keep local l.e agencies busy going after local cell leaders. meanwhile the cartel continues its main priority which is large scale trafficking across the border. and yes when things get too out of hand the main cartel does set order as seen & talked in past articles. bigger cartel hits still get accomplished meanwhile being disguised/attributed to local drug retailing corner hits. the main cartel in tijuana (arellanos) have members that both traffic drugs in large scale across the border and others that run local drug retailing spots areas throughout tijuana. the number of members controlling/running corner spots is few, Most traffic to the u.s and leave the local drug retailing for others to deal with the headaches. ppl assume aquiles and his group are at war with el cartel de tijuana (arellanos) but the reality is he's just at war with el quieto's groups (cafeteros) & los de la sanchez (cjng flag). both quieto & aquiles at one point were told to cool it down a bit by the higher power (a truce). this war you see happening in tijuana is amongst individuals not cartels even though there each backed by a different cartel. hopefully I was able to answer your ?'s 8:29

  10. Does the Sinola cartel and the cjnj cartel have different prices for drugs? Or do they somehow maintain a price point. For example from what I've heard from relatives in to those things the price of a key of coke or black dosent vary on the west coast besides location "cheaper closer to border" and rather connected directly to a plug "Mexican that can cover large purchases or fronts large amounts" from what hear prices are pretty much set. So with both Cartels and I believe the remnants of the afo cat and probably even others supplying product to the west coast how do the prices stay same given the large profit margin from coke form South America and large profit margin from heroin made in mex. How are they not undercutting each other until the price plummets?

    1. Why are you asking rhetorical questions? Prices/profit will plumit dumb dumb

    2. The prices are and are not set. For example a kilo od mexican commercial weed is 125 per pound (250 per kilo) then the tunnel tax is $150 a pound, or the drivers charge $150 a poind to cross it. So you could say the price of $300 a pound in San Diego is fixed. But its really not.

    1. @1:43PM From the "Urban Dictionary:

If you know any mexican people then you'll know this is a non-derogatory term used to refer to US citizens. Mostly because the term "American" does not make sense to the rest of the Americans (all those people who live in the continent named "America", wich is every body from Alaska to argentina), and the word "Estadounidense" (UnitedStatean)is too long.

Folklore says it was generated when the US invaded mexico, wearing green uniforms, and the people shouted at them "Green Go Home".

With time it lost all derogatory status and was turned into the most common word to refer to any US citizen.

    2. The word "gringos" isn't offensive. If you start talking about "crackers", step up then.

    3. Dude really? Calling you a gringo is like calling me a Mexican . Get a grip.
