Tamaulipas: Failed Ambush Leaves 8 Gunmen Dead

Translated by Valor for Borderland Beat

This is the second known occurrence where gunmen ambush federal forces in a month in San Fernando.

Yesterday, armed gunmen aboard two trucks opened fire on a convoy of the federal police, federal forces division, in a failed ambush where eight of the gunmen, belonging to a criminal group that controls the area, died.

The fighting occurred yesterday when the officers carried out surveillance patrols at 13:00 hours, three kilometers from the federal highway Entronque Urracas–Reynosa (also known as “Y”) kilometer 41, along the agricultural corridor of gap 40 that leads to the neighborhood Agrícola Francisco González Villarreal, belonging to the municipality of San Fernando.

In this area, a convoy of members of the federal preventive police led by the patrol vehicle #13754, were on a patrol when they were attacked by armed gunmen that were traveling aboard two trucks.

Upon realizing that they were cut off by the federal forces, the gunmen in the white truck opened fire at the convoy of federal agents, repelling the aggression.

At The Scene

Behind the white truck was another group of gunmen that, in order to face the federal forces, passed a gray Dodge Ram along the agricultural corridor of gap #40.

The shootout, which lasted 20 minutes, left eight criminals dead, which were in possession of tactical gear, radios, and cell phones.

Six AR-15’s were found along the bodies of the criminals, as well as a grenade launcher, a 9mm pistol, stocked magazines, and other cartridges of different calibers.  The dead have not been identified by the police.

A patrol vehicle of the federal police was damaged with multiple gunshots, but none of the officers were injured, according to the Tamaulipas Coordination Group.

    5. the government never admits casualties. i remember a big shootout in rural monterrey back 2011. Soldiers vs zetas, they killed like 50 zetas but also there was a government truck that picked like 10 dead soldiers in a rush just right after the last bullet.

    8. If they executed the gangsters..so what.

    10. 8:28 real gangsters do not bother trying to prove their shit in court, they just kill and murder their way to glory.

  12. I am not familiar with these types of guns. I have seen private collections and they were not army green like those in the picture. When I see green weapons like this I think of military issued weapons. Like many to the Mexican government that I see them carrying here. Not just weapons bought on the streets of in a store. I stopped writing and went to several sites that sold AR 15's to the public in the USA and they are flat black. This for sure look military green. Are they painting them after buying them? Are they military plants or are is the government selling them after buying them? Just fishing for information as I really do not know.

  13. AR with rail is most certainly American. The othere stock weapons appear to be purchased from the most dignified and incorruptible Mexican security forces. I find it interesting that when these cartels mutilate and dismember people the news articles are festooned with their brand names yet the last two articles where there was a clear defeat (if not extrajudicial exections) of said cartels and no mention of name. Just "criminal organizations from the area"... hmmmm

    1. 8:44 "..a clear defeat..." in your dreams, boy...
Extra Judicial Executions nails it perfectly, the pri is all neo-porfirista and applying la Ley fuga, like don Porfirio Diaz, they can't see where they have been facking up, murdering all the mexicans they can, just because it is easy...

    6. 4:51 I know you're not talking to me. Eloria Noyesi moth eating hetors of your coke plant and pot plants is helping. No I'm not the devil I'm a prior USN combat vet who used to be a military adviser for the clandestine agencies. Helping smugglers import that moth which only eats coke and pot is helping. How? You have 0 violence if the cartels cannot grow it bc a pest is eating it all by 5 hectares of feild a day. That helps everyone. You cannot bribe officials due to lack of money bc lack of sales of a illegal narcotic. Which means your multi billion dollar empire will go dry overtime. If you're going to reply to me and it says that I got a notification that you replied to me but via someone elses blog I'll refer to you as a coward. Kapesh? The old rules are to be enforced no drugs are to be sold in the United States as per the five famlies. Due to the fact you refuse to listen you can try to battle a insect which breeds better than any rabbit in any petting zoo. Enjoy gentleman.
