Luis Montoya "Don Carlos", plaza boss of Ismael Zambada executed in La Paz

Translated by Otis B Fly-Wheel for Borderland Beat from a BCS Noticias article

Subject Matter: Luis Montoya Beltran, Don Carlos, El Montoya
Recommendation: See link to article on Don Carlos

Executed man in La Paz identified as alleged Jefe de plaza

Reporter: BCS Noticias Redaction
It appears that the violent events commenced with a chase on Colosio Boulevard, even though there are loose ends, and the testimonies point to another person in the same vehicle, the authorities have declared nothing in that respect.

The dead man is un-officially identified as Luis Montoya, who was executed this morning in the Arboledas Colonia of this city, his body was found inside a vehicle close to an SEP building; he is allegedly plaza boss of a local cartel, what could be inferred is that the death was a result of a war between criminal cells. ( Otis: see link in Recommendation above for details of the sides in this war).

Colectiva Pericu, informed a little after 10:00 am that persons that were circulating around the Bulevar Colonia saw when they saw two vehicles turn and drive into Calle Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, and were surprised to hear various fire arm detonations, it was a chase that ended almost at Calle Chechen, in the Arboledas Colonia, they saw one of the vehicles stop while the other accelerated, they had already killed a local cartel leader, Luis Montoya, and his death could start a war in La Paz of the type that hasn't been seen for two years.

The body of the man stayed sitting  in the drivers seat, on his right hand side he had received 3 bullet impacts, through the door of the grey Mazda MPV, with plate number 941 PPNC B, the door was open, in what authorities think the attackers rescued a wounded passenger in the vehicle, there were pools of blood in the vehicle foot wells.

They add that the first person on the scene said that in addition to the dead man, there was a wounded female in the passenger seat, but when rescuers arrived Luis Montoya had no vital signs.

For the other part, official sources also gave to know that along that street they had found different caliber spent shell casings, but did not give details of the calibers. In light of the former, it is inferred that the chase had started in the Boulevard Colosio, with the intention of catching the gray van, which was finally parked behind a Toyota pickup truck, whose owner has not been identified, although some witnesses said they saw someone leave the vehicle.

It is enough to say, that the events happened only two blocks from one of the installations of New centre of penal justice of the PGJE.

Translators comment: Otis; I'm not so sure that the competition, being Los Pepillos, Los 28, and the CAF, can mount an effective counter attack for the plaza in the time they have before the Mayo Zambada/Los Zetas/Beltran Leyva de facto alliance can appoint another plaza boss with the required experience.

Claro. ¿Que no?

  6. Just another rat on the latter. They claim to have millions but can not use the money, they end up using the sewer system to try to scape like a rat. The only reason chapo did not get busted in Los Cabos was the prostitude was on the rag.

  18. I don't believe these cartels are prospering like they once were . I think law enforcement has been hitting them in their pocket books . They are being killed by one another fighting for territory . The government is killing them in large numbers . I really don't get the attraction to it . Why would any dumbass wont to get involved . Being glorified in the stupid songs is about it . I hope the government takes a lot more of them out . If not we will have to build more of these desolate prisons to hold them in . We do have areas of extreme that the population needs a economic boost of employment . If we build it they will come . LOL

    1. the people who get into nowadays seem like the same people that get into gangs on the US side: poor kids without much opportunity to make it big in the legit world. it seems like the narcojunior thing where rich kids did it as fad has passed. the only rich kid narco juniors i read about are actual family members of narcos. the regular rich kids committing crimes now just seem to do it because they are assholes, not wannabe narcos...i could be way wrong, but that's just my impression, oh yeah, also, that you dont make much sense
