Mexico hunting down Chapo? "It's lies, pure politics" says sources

Lucio R. Borderland Beat republished from Telesur

Note: Did anyone at BB believe the near misses of a Chapo capture?

The monkey story was so absurd, that not one of us contributors at BB could in good conscience post the story.  Mexican officials claimed they almost nabbed the capo, when his twin daughters begged him to save their ailing pet monkey, “Boots”.  Frustratingly, U.S. and European press, slurped it up and ran with the story.

The bigger focus should be those innocents, harmed, shot upon, and driven from their homes. Over 100 injured, 700 displaced. Why?.... For theater…-Lucio-

From Telesur
Two solid sources, very close to powerful Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, told teleSUR late Sunday that the Sinaloa cartel leader has not been injured and was by no means nearly arrested, agreeing that the Mexican government is “lying,” possibly to convince the U.S. it is doing all it can to recapture him.

“It's all lies. It's pure politics,” said Antonio Lopez Salcido, a relative of deceased infamous drug trafficker Manuel “Cochiloco” Salcido Uzeta. “El Chapo has a huge personal army of more than 300 gunmen prepared to defend him and he also enjoys full protection and fluid information from federal authorities.”

Lopez made it clear to teleSUR that he wanted his real name left out of this story, “not because I fear El Chapo, but rather the government. They really get pissed when we expose them.”

He also said he had no problem explaining the truth regarding the government versions that special forces nearly arrested El Chapo early in October after being spotted on foot.

“You tell me if you believe that bullshit. El Chapo has been where he has always been since he left jail,” Lopez added. “He has no reason to leave his area of influence. All the communities and all the people are with him because he has done more for them than the government has ever done.”

Lopez was recently released from jail after serving a 10-year sentence for drug trafficking, and he is originally from a small community in the mountainous region of Sinaloa called La Anona, just a few miles from Jesus Maria, where El Chapo has family and where his stronghold begins.

“I was recently up further than Jesus Maria to run an errand for (drug lord Rafael) Caro Quintero and he was there with El Chapo and El Mayo (Ismael Zambada, another very powerful drug trafficker),” he said.

The source explained that the three multi-billionaire drug traffickers have been working together for decades and said that based on bribes and donations to the highest levels of government, they are “basically untouchable.”

Julio “El Tio” Martinez, who works for a Sinaloa Cartel top operative known only as Aquiles, agreed with Lopez.

“I've told you before, El Chapo is in the mountainous region between Jesus Maria and his place of origin in Badiraguato. He controls all of it in partnership with don Rafael (Caro Quintero) and 'El Mayo,'” said El Tio.

He said that all three of them have more power than the president himself.

“They pay tens of millions, if not billions to all these hypocritical politicians, two federal security forces, the army, the marines, to all them. They would not dare touch neither of them as they would be betraying agreements that through the years total billions of dollars in cash,” he added.

Caro Quintero was released from jail under highly dubious circumstances despite being demanded for extradition by the United States for narcotics smuggling and in relation to the torture and death of a DEA agent over two decades ago.

El Mayo reportedly owns one of the largest milk factories in northwestern Mexico – Lecheria Santa Monica – all of the McDonald's in, at least, Sinaloa state capital Culiacan, and many other businesses across the country and in other nations.

However, El Mayo has never even been issued a traffic ticket and there is no talk in government regarding his arrest.

Same goes for Caro Quintero, who although spent close to 30 years in jail, continued to run his empire from behind bars and increased his fortune to the tens of billions, according to DEA files.
Also, in spite of a government admission that it had made a mistake releasing him, there is no apparent will to recapture him.

“I just want to say the government is lying. They must know why. They lie about who is killing who. They blame the deaths of journalist on us. The accuse us of killing politicians, but the truth is that we are all about business ... that is the business of making money,” he said.

El Tio explained that the least thing any drug trafficker is to draw attention by killing journalists or politicians or activists.

“All the contrary, the man I work for, Aquiles, is usually in charge of cleaning up cities where the police has proven to be incapable. Where there is a high rate of kidnappings, car robberies, extortion to businesses, Aquiles and his crew come in and clean up so that business can be carried out peacefully without complaints from the local population,” Martinez said.
“I also just want to say that we know we are no innocent pigeons, but believe me when I say the government is far worse to society than we are. We have built churches, schools, clinics, roads and taken electricity and water to places the government never showed will to do so,” he said.

  1. Sounds like even if he was caught he would not be extradited to the USA. Maybe the last capture was all for show. As if the government was doing something. All planned out maybe. After all the other prisoners said he was getting special treatment and they even had a female come in to service him against the rules. All makes sense as they extradite the others who have done crimes in Mexico also and they let the one go that murdered the US agent. Truly great stuff for a movie or book.

  2. WOW,
Excellent report. Makes perfect sense, if you can use those two words together to describe the situation . I totally agree about all these displaced people and it seems to be going on in far too many places. Entire pueblos burned and bulldozed.

  3. Some aspects of this report make sense, like the idea that both El Chapo and Don Rafa are hiding in the area between Jesus Maria and upcountry ranchos in Badiraguato, but others lack context.

I've never heard of the Zambada family owning the three McDonald's franchises in Culiacan. I'm curious where TeleSUR came up with that bit of nonsense. It is also doubtful that a runner for Tijuana leader El Aquiles would have much info about the location of top bosses.

  5. I actually believe this report. I believe the "Big 3" (El Chapo, El Mayo, & Caro Quintero) are hunkered down, running the Sinaloa Federation and helping the people who are helping them. I can see the Mexican government lying and covering up all of this. Not only are billions of dollars from the cartels at stake, but so are billions of dollars in aid from the United States. All of that money is spent on corruption, not to fight drugs or the cartels. The Americans are either absolutely stupid, or just as involved as the Mexican government from a corruption standpoint. Until the US wakes up and gets their head out of their ass & is serious about stopping drug trafficking, then this will go on forever.

No one thinks the Americans are serious about putting an end to drug trafficking because it would affect a lot of jobs. Not just in law enforcement, the intelligence fields, but mainly in the banking industry. Reports say if the US were to completely stop drug trafficking, their banking system would collapse. Plus everyone knows the CIA, FBI, & DEA are all involved with the cartels for controlling the drug trade. Ever heard of Gary Webb? Or Barry Seal?

  7. Why would anyone believe this cartel propaganda piece? It's very convenient for cartel scum to point the finger at the monolithic "government" and say that this entire beast is actually the corrupt one.

Don't you all realize this monolithic evil "government" is comprised of many individuals, many of whom are actual decent people. Do you think the cartels or the government have more honest decent people in its ranks? What about the Mexican military when compared to cartel sicarios?

It's easy to try and point the finger at the government and say that in fact THEY are the evil corrupt money-hungry ones and the cartels are the good guys.

Have you forgotten all those beheadings, those narco snuff films, the torture, the extortion, the constant dead littering the streets of Mexico? This article even goes so far as to claim that this is all the doing of the government and the police, and the cartel simply come along and try to stop all this evil and clean up the streets.

Don't make me laugh! Sure, the government sometimes strikes deals with certain cartels to unify and fight against another one. But all of these kingpins are not just sitting around sipping wine enjoying the good life while the government acts as their body guards while lying to the rest of the world.

The Mexican government CANNOT lie to the US Government. The US knows whether Mexico is actually trying to catch el Chapo or not.

This article is bullshit. The US wants el Chapo captured and as a direct result, Mexico (who takes all our money and supplies and training) is doing all they can to capture el Chapo as well. Case closed.

Sinaloan capos feed and manipulate the public with violent and outlandish drug ballads and they gobble it up, the suppression is successful. 2. Exactly, people need to understand the big picture which is crooked gobiernos using the drug trade as a financial resource for any crooked plans they have regarding worldwide matters.
So when you guys understand that, then you come to a simple thought: If somebody is going to run it it better be people with certain values so the common folk at least doesnt get taxed for piso or shit like that.

El Chapo and all of his associates are from the old school. He created mayhem of course for the control of certain areas but honestly sometimes is killed or be killed. He has waged war against the biggest organizations, which of course would try to get his slice of the cake as well.

The best thing we can do is not to use illegal drugs. Thats it.

    5. 11:57 the CIA is notorious for cutting their assets loose and severing all ties from them when they fuck up. Don't be surprised if the CIA was the reason RCQ was released because he was punished long enough. If your asset was to be extradited would you want him in the US governments hands to spill the beans? I don't think so. You have to look beyond the realm of black and white. There is a lot gray areas in this corrupt world.

    6. No. Caro Quintero wasn't an asset, and isn't now. The CIA's front porch, a.k.a. the State Department, today, still buys DEA's false version of Kiki and the pilots torture and murders. State Dept employees who hadn't yet been born at the time of RCQ's arrest hate Caro Quintero. There are many remarkable factors in this saga, none more so than the fact RCQ didn't get offed in prison--that, my friends, is POWER.

An academic I knew, long since deceased, who was a WWII spook, was asked to be a part of this "new" agency. 20. I wonder if anyone else read EPN tweet?
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto later tweeted that Trudeau had formally committed to lift the Mexican visa requirement that restricts travel to Canada, which was a promise from the Liberal campaign platform.
The visa requirement was initially put in places as over 10K Mexicans were arriving annually in Canada and declaring refugee status! And many were not even from Mexico but used Mexico as a jumping-off point to gain access to Canada! Human traffickers and drug traffickers took advantage of the no-visa requirement!
Refugee Status In Canada means many years of free $(15000pesos monthly) free medical including operations free, free eye care and glasses, and free dental and free prescription drugs! And a cherry on the cake Canada will pay for you lawyer to fight for your right to stay in Canada!
If you can prove your life is in threat for being gay or on Cartel Hit list or an abused child prostitute you have a good chance of being allowed to stay forever. Folks like Dr Mirelles or threatened Journalists would likely be accepted as legitimate refugees. If after many years you are refused Canada pays you airfare back to Mexico. However, many Mexicans just go undercover and stay!
Anyway, if you want to visit and enjoy a vacation in Canada or claim refugee status very soon all you'll need to do is book a ticket!

  30. So Acquiles is cleaning up Tijuana by paying meth heads a few grams of crystal to blow someone's head off? Lol I don't know about that but it can be proven that CDS are less violent in general than other groups although they have been just a brutal. It is true that they are all about the business as he said.

    1. Yup CDS is the lesser of the trafficking evils. The money goes back into circulation and everyone eats. The problem is the user has an insatiable thirst for narcotics. So the govts, cartels, and elites will always be on top of this game, because the average citizen will always continue to consume.

  32. I'm glad you didn't post that. It's really a disgrace. Also, there is a telesur article where an activist says that the government never said that they were going after El Chapo until the reports can out that they were committing human rights abuses. Thus suggesting they only said that to change the news reports. It's sad that these western media outlets eat these stories up without any consideration for the truth and yet they can say they're simply 'reporting' without knowing the lies they spread.

  36. It's probably unrelated, but on a side note a guy named Hector David Salcido Valdez was gunned down in Culiacan a few days ago. He was released from the Aguaruto jail a few days earlier, where he was locked up for stealing cars. I think he was gunned down at his home with an AR-15.

  38. Chapo has 300 armed guards? Yeah that's why he was caught with only 1 guy. That 300 armed guards theory has been going on for a long time, just speculation. Maybe. And a bk out him being caught in agreement, I don't think so cause why would he show his face when people and the government didn't know how he looked like recently, they were only showing old pictures of him

    1. Uhh its true he was picked up by arrangement. Everybody in government knows wat he looms like and where he is at all times because they have to make sure he's protected.
