Tijuana: Brother of 'El Melvin' Gutierrez executed

Benjamen Gutierrez Quiroz murdered in Tijuana

In a continuation of the violence that is washing the streets of Tijuana with blood and narco mantas, a frenzied war of attrition and blood for blood, the brother of 'El Melvin' was murdered Saturday night in Tijuana.

Melvin Gutierrez was captured just over 2 years ago, in Tijuana, by elements of the Army.  He was found in a barren safe-house, with an AR-15, sent immediately to Mexico City, on firearm charges, he has been imprisoned ever since.  Melvin is from Barrio Logan, San Diego, which carries a legacy with Tijuana, and the Arellano Felix family.

Barrio Logan is headed towards revitalization, the latest word which describes the gentrification of an area, mostly by wealthy white investors, but one hopes some local community business owners too. New restaurants, condo developments are repainting the area that for so long has been symbolic of gang violence, and desperate poverty.

It was different in the 90's, when Melvin began his career in the CAF.  It was different when Spooky and Puma, and others trained in Tijuana under Ramon Arellano Felix, and Russian mercenaries in safe-houses, eventually killing a cardinal in 1993, at the Guadalajara airport, while Chapo Guzman escaped unharmed.  It was a lifetime ago.
Gustavo Riveria Martinez 'El EP 1'

Melvin began his career in similar ways, eventually working up to become a confidante of Fernando Sanchez Arellano, and one assumes, his uncles before him.  It was said Melvin took over operations from Gustvao Riveria Martinez, a Bontita, San Diego native.  However, this was also said about Manuel Ivvanovich Flores, 'El Jimmy', who was arrested in 2009, and released in 2013.

Melvin trafficked across the border, and allegedly conducted enforcement activities for Sanchez Arellano, including working directly with the Azarte Arteaga brothers, to send product, and collect taxes.  After Melvin's capture it was said the relationship between the rival groups faltered, as Sanchez Arellano lost a key ally.

Less is known about Benjamin, 'El Quecho', only that he was murdered at an OXXO, near his Tijuana home, in Zona Rio,  he was driving a truck, and carrying luggage.  Reports have indicated he was leaving Tijuana, that night.  Of course, he could have been arriving also. Neighbors said they did not know him, and he had not lived there for long.  His girlfriend and relatives argued with investigators who took pictures of his body.

Police and official statements offer conflicting reports, some say he was continuing his brother's business affairs, and some indicate he worked in a mechanics shop in Colonia Libertad.

It seems the fight in Tijuana is just beginning.

So if you involve in any drug slanging you pay the piper no matter what or you end up missing or dead but of course if you are a nomal law abiding paisa you dpnt pay taxes duh!

  5. Fun fact about Kecho is that he was a tagger in San Diego in the late 80's early 90's. He went by the name of KECHO and also CHOKE and I think eventually became a Logan Heights gang member like his cousins and uncles. He was well known in the graffiti sub-culture as one of the pioneers in the SD graff scene. A few years ago I heard about him again and someone mentioned that he was in the business in TJ like many Logan Heights members before him. Crazy to hear about him again and find out that he was killed. I know this didn't add much to the story but just thought I would share that. Stay safe, everyone...especially around the borders. Tijuana is no joke right now.

    1. That was interesting info! I must say, I am no fame of graffiti. TJ is covered in it (gang scrawl) and it is very depressing. Even nice homes are covered with it.

The last I heard, the fine for tagging in SD is $7,000

    6. I know KETCHO, not knew ,but know him, our kids grew up with him and all his brothers and sisters, we lived in the same apartments. In those days in the 80's everyone was tagging, our kids everyone"s kids practically that was thing, one of them, then. I know the parents, we were together. I feel sad, shocked, because I know him, he was just a little boy when we knew them. My sister lost a son, so she knows how the mom feels, it feels so close to home, two sons that knew each other are gone, my sisters son, my nephew, was also big in gangs his name is "VINCENT" and I understand how KETCHO's aunts and uncles feel right now, and my mom and my sister know how KETCHO's mom feeling, and to you anonymous on may 27 at 5:51 PM, what do you mean by: Fun fact, answer me as soon as possible, and by the way I hope that I do not find any reading that's not nice about KETCHO, that will upset me, Marylou

  6. Tijuana is and will always be el quintó mes territory. Mayo has always done business in Tijuana since the 80s. The Arellano heads Benjamin and Ramón including Chuy Labra were always obedient to Ismael's orders. They let Mayo pass shipments without taxing him. Mayo is just cleaning his house right now.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Wrong. Benjamin and Ramon were never obedient to his orders, nor did they let him work there tax free. Where did you get that from? As a matter of fact he was pretty much chased out of TJ when he refused to pay taxes and went back to Sinaloa. There was an attempted to kill him but failed and he decided to leave rather than pay up.

      Delete
    2. @5:54 pm... Wrong. Quinto mes wanted to work thru TJ after the plazas were split up by MAFG. After the Arellanos started taxing him he started sneaking shipments without paying. AFO found out and QM started getting billed, when he defaulted AFO waged war on him.

      Delete
    3. Then tell me why Mayo is still standing going full throttle in the game? Benjamin is in a Florida penitentiary being a nice illegal guest of the US government while Ramon has been long gone. The rest of the brothers are locked or dead. The sisters retired. The nephews decided to go legit with all the drug money their family made. Nobody is left. The Arellanos lost that war that they once started. Mayo runs Tijuana now. It is what it is.

  8. Spooky and Puma never trained with no Russian mercenaries. I don't know why people always exaggerate things. Spooky was in jail in San Diego when the Mexican Cardenal was killed, after he was released he was offered 25 thousand dollars to take the blame for the Cardenal's murder. He never got paid, he was killed in the Tijuana jail by the Arellano Felix. Puma was offered money to do a hit on someone (Chapo Guzman). The so called training was no more than shooting guns on a Tijuana ranch.

I grew up with them, people just like to exaggerate a little too much for no reason at all.

  19. For the record Mayo is a poos pooos. Ran away to Sinaloa.
Ant one that gives their word on one thing and goes back on it is worthless useless trash, a person not worthyof any respect no matter how much money or power they have.

All the zambadas are fucked. Mayo says he pacted with CJNG. When was there not a pact?
Now that half your federation is fucked due to narcing each other out, now its time for a pact? He is just waiting on his poos pooos kiddos to get out of jail to take reign. Mayo is scared shitless spending all his cash to keep his organization on top. Its over for the federation Mayo gave up Jouaquin and prior to that there was already tensions.

Mayo gave up Torres Felix for being too violent and attracting attention. REALLY? Why ? Cause he is a poos poos. They gave up Torres Felix internal enemy Macho Prieto. Atleast his crew was loyal to him. Even getting fired by a 50 cal from the air they came to his aide. Loyalty. Something the federation never had. Mayo supported Chappo in all the ass hattery they did. Including informing on the Beltran Leyvas. Now Chappo and Mayo are mad cause the Flores narced them out. Dont dish it out if you cant take it poos poos federation. Extortioning migrants they also did incase you think la Federation where good people.

So yeah Mayo is smart. Funding with everything he has conflicts with other cartels while his group deals with betrayl and informants. Every one in that crew will follow the leader monkey see monkey do. Sit back narc on you own people, never fight your own battles and narc on any one that isnt you. What a great business model.

@2:08 I am old enough to not to be eavesdropping on convos that druggies and Highschool kids are having. And no not all cartels follow the same Modus Operandi as the Federation.

      Pay Taxes.
      Start an espionage cell.
Fund an internal conflict in the opposing cartel.
      Dig Tunnel.
Inform Police of Regional Cartels key hot spots and peoples contacts.
      Move drugs untaxed in tunnel.
Bribe authorities to shake down rivals.
Bring in idiots with guns and corridos to make it look like they did it themselves.
Start narcing each other out within the organization.
Uhm no. Tijuana Juarez BLO are established good examples of cartels that don't inform on each other. They may bribe police but they don't go into others territory to start espionage and internal conflicts.

    6. @5:59 that makes no sense. How are there more paisas than cholos in the Pen? Thats a stupid statement. So you are saying for every 100 paisas ther are 3 cholos? Thats hard to believe cause real paisas dont have any schooling so how are they going to understand what someone said to them how to read in ingles how to send a proper letter of appeal? Swear some people dont know a damn thing and think they are spreading the Gospels.
@11:03 You are stupid. Litterally the regional gang will always stay strong in its region. Surenos do exist in Chicago there is a loose affiliation to the 26 gang. At least 26 is made up of mexican families (what up 2-6?). How would surenos be a big factor if they are totally out of their region? Surenos are mexicans. Not island african spanish speakers like the LatinQueefs. Makes no sense to kick money up to a fucking Islander. Dumbass youve been brainwashed. Its all people this or folk that one big family this... but hit the penal system and BOOOM. It is a race war in your city.
I met a LK once he tried to recruit me, when he told me his pops was a King locked up in Texas and that he had no choice but to roll with the Mafia I knew LatinQueefs was a joke in Texas. Ive asked and it seems the chapters in Texas get stomped out in the penal system. They exist in the streets but very very few way way less the Surenos here in Texas. LK have few choices but Texas Syndicate accepts LKs. They stomp em out first though just to get it through their head that another prison gang is not welcomed.
Surenos (real surenos) wont defunct or deny their affiliation and usually they either barely make it out alive or build a substantial crew fairly quickly or drop affiliation/flip or die. However there is no real Sureno gang in Texas prisons. So seeing a sureno in there is usually a brief thing. Almost every one from Texas joins a regional Tango Blast. Essentially this gang extorts REAL paisas and preys on its own race the hardest. From what Ive been told Tango Blast is usually the biggest Mexican gang inside Texas. This means there is litterally a decentralized deorganized group of people claiming affiliation to each other because they are usually 5 feet 7 inches in stature and under 150lbs in weight. And will run away from any one 1 on 1.
      AKA little putitos.

@2:23 any gangster that does not bang his set when questioned is violated out of his gang. Simple as that those arent real surenos. I think that would go for any gangster.

I know the family since those kids were so little, just going to burbank school our kids grew up with them, and we know the parents, the mom and their dad who also passed awhile back, not the mom. so i have a soft spot in my heart, he would protect my son from anything or anyone, so you guys stay cool with this, these sons are someones mother, and we know her, so chill, L-H
