Jalisco: State wide explosion of violence, sicarios bring down military helicopter, killing three soldiers

Lucio R. Borderland Beat
This is the only photo posted so far, it is from Zeta Mag-however there are reports the craft made
an emergency landing without fire.  At this time we cannot be positive this is a photo from the scene.

Mexico’s national defense staged an operation to secure Jalisco, called “Operation Jalisco”.  This triggered a massive response from organized crime (CJNG) with more than 30 narco blockades throughout the state, and the shooting down of a military helicopter resulting in the death of 3 soldiers, 12 injured including 10 army soldiers and 2 federal police agents.  Authorities report 3 soldiers are missing.

The aircraft was carrying 18 elements in total, plus the crew.

The helicopter was a Cougar 1009, which was conducting surveillance in the area.

There are rumors that Mencho has been captured.  Emphasis on the word rumor.

Residents of Jalisco were advised to stay indoors.

  1. I doubt Mencho is going to be taken alive, another Tony Tormenta IMO

  2. We have all been expecting a mobilisation on Jalisco? Are they any closet to El Mencho? This is how organized CJNG is for those who were saying they aren't?Shooting a helicopter down? Its hard to believe, but always thought CJNG looked almost para-military?Its still kicking off

    1. Yep it's time to chose whose side a person is on. Time to chose the lesser of two evils (the government or the narcos). Unfortunately a person can't or shouldn't stay neutral because you are either with government or against the government.

    2. Lets see if the United States says this is an act of terrorism because if this happened in the United States it would be......hold on informants are telling me that the United States will not declare the cartels terrorists because they work with the cartels in selling drugs to america so therefore these are not terrorist acts but disturbing the peace.

    3. There is no terrorism in the US, says my President . My President says the Police r bad. He is lucky his got his own Secret t Service. me only the Police, by the way the Police r good people

    4. There are many, too many corrupt cops in the US, there have been many, too many and they have even been convicted and imprisoned before, you need to grow up, grow a pair and accept that cops are only human too, and that if should not be an excuse to fuck up with impunity like as if they were mexican sovereigns with impunity for any and all crimes and.misdemeanors, ON THE US!!!

  7. My friend in PV informed me and showed pics of so many places on fire, Elektra, 5 Pemex, one old hotel and more. All of these places just a block or so from the main tourist drag. Not a good situation. Malls being evacuated by police as well. Her sister works in the mall and said there were shots fired and all stores, buses and taxis are closed for business.

    2. Unarmored helicopters can be taken down with small arms fire. 10 guys with semi-autos, or 1 with a lucky light machine gun, can damage even an armored helicopter, flying low, enough to force it down. The Super Cougar model has removable armor (that might have been removed to save weight for a fully-loaded mission).

RPG on the shoulder of a "pop-up" shooter can be very effective on helicopter. Did they aim at the tail to try to force-down rather than have a deadly crash? Some other objective?

If a pilot is doing CAS or pickup & delivery (while "merely" taking ground-fire), they want to be in an A-10, not a helicopter (unless it's a HIND).

      Delete
  19. Setting up 30 roadblocks and shooting down a helicopter points to maybe they are trying to rescue mencho. Usually top narcos are transported in helicopters to an airport, to make the flight to el D.F.

They are ambushing and running...all are the same Jalisquillos, michoacanos and sinaloenses. Some are brave and will fight to the end...most will sell their mothers to save their ass when the see death. Anyway....the government is mostly at fault because of their GREED and the double crossing against the NARCOS.

There will always be crime as there is here in the United States also but something definitely needs to be done to control this shit. It use to be so nice for people to live, re tire and or visit Mexico know no one wants to go. Mexico is getting a very bad rep with all these pendejas running around we are going to be embrassed to say we are Mexican because this is the type of stuff we are going to be known for. If this so called cartels and thier minions cared a dam about thier country they wouldn't be doing all this making Mexico ugly because of thier actions.
