  10. Outstanding! This is clear evidence that through sweat equity and transparency tomorrow will bring a brighter future. The cynical naysayers who dismiss the United States of Mexico as a 'failed state' will be proven wrong. Mexico has so many gifts! The Borderland Beat project is a tribute to the important struggles of Mexico by many common people and many not so silent heroes such as Otis, Chivis and many more. Viva Mexico! K.O.

  49. 100 million views but you have to remember that spam count as viewers and at least 40% of these views come from spam.

With all this said congratulations BorderlandBeat.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @3:53. You are way off on your number of 40% is spam. Because we moderate the comments on Main Page, very little spam gets posted here and when it happens it usually it is my fault. We almost always check out a website where a comment includes a URL. The last time that I did not take the time to open the site the the URL was included in a comment that said it was a new photo of JT, it was a porn site. Very embarrassing. I apologize to the readers and I assure you it won't happen again. Lesson learned the hard way.
On the Forum we do not moderate posts or comments I am also admin. on Forum and I delete spam as soon as I see it. But it is only maybe once or twice a week some spammer posts something. Usually on Forum a spammer will post 6 to 8 separate threads at the same time. But even considering each of those a view, twice a week with maximum of 8 threads does not add up to anywhere near 40% of 1 million views.

      Delete
    2. spam is almost non existent because of the blogger wall that is usually caught in the spam net and not presented in any way.

DD yours was not spam. your porn site, well not yours but you know the one. that was from a mental patient that thinks its funny to try to catch a newbie moderator.

      Delete
    3. chivis don't allow negative comments in this thread, this a celebratory day for all who made bb the successful and respected website it is.

I think you have been at it the longest. even though you stop posting articles you still work behind the scenes and that is a great thing..

      Delete
    4. For the record I don't "almost always" check a website, link or YT sent in I check them 100% of the time. That is why sometimes it may be a day or 2 before it is posted because I had not checked it.

About the negative comments, I agree but I think in this case the reader did not know how it works, it is fine.

I began at BB as a reader in the fall 2009, when Brito, Ernie, Ajulio and gang were here, people used names to comment, that is much better, because you can identify which to read and not read.

we have had some outstanding volunteers that put countless hrs into the project, Gerardo, Ovemex, to name a couple greats.

    1. Been reading for about three years. I have grown to understand the seriousness that the hard working families face just to make a living. My first trip, 1948, with my father, he bought horses. A beautiful country, that i learned to love, because of the gracious and loving people. I am too old, 75, to make any more trips. But this site keeps this old cowboy in the loop, for this i thank all of you. Chivis, you do add that special touch that comes from experience and love. I drink morning coffee with all of you, and then a lil toddy for the body at night. Congratulations to all that keep this site going. Love from Washington, duke

    2. You need to grow up young man, I was discussing your constant negative comments with chivis yesterday. Why don't you try to leave positive comments that stimulate conversation of subject matter.

I would leave you a stronger message were it not for the fact I have no admin rights. Add something positive and become a positive source of information to this site. If you have an opinion, back it up with verifiable sources, which doesn't include your gut instincts or what your friends told you. Back up your assertions with mainstream evidence.

You have already been noted as a negative influence here, why don't you do the right thing and turn that into a positive.

    3. Jose,
often a message gets buried in the presentation. I was annoyed at the comment you sent to Otis yesterday. It was so disrespectful. I don't want this thread to be ruined by negativity or bad boy behavior. And I don't know which facts were correct, I was concentrating solely on your communication approach towards someone you feel is in error.

Contribute to the conversation, have your say, be respectful, give supporting links to information, those are the best comments.

      Paz

--I quit reading books that include half of their pages worth of references, too much work for me, I am a happy hippy, too lazy and irresponsible, but I get posted all the time!!!! THANKS AND CONGRATS, and lastly but not leastly, I love BB and all the volunteers, positive and negative comments that push things ahead, and most of all that la CHIVAAA!!! Is with us...

  67. Keep it up! Eventually the U.S. Federal Government will have no choice but to seal the southern border and stop the flow of drugs & illegal entry participants. It's news you report that will someday be featured on a national news network like CNN, Fox News, & NBC. It's coming. Borderland Beat will be a primary source of this news.

To show all your friends that you have told about BB and who thought you were crazy, use the "share" button at the bottom of the story and share this story with friends on FB, Twitter, or any other social media site you are a member of. They can see how widely read and respected that BB has become.
