CDG Reynosa Tamaulipas: "El Gafe" and 3 others Perp Walk

Lucio R. Borderland Beat

"El Gafe"Returned to Tamaulipas in February, following the arrest

of Omar Treviño

Authorities report that “El Gafe”, A prominent CDG leader, (above) who was not in Tamualipas until after  the arrest of Omar Trevino alias Z42.  Following the arrest of 42, El Gafe returned to Tamaulipas, operating out of Reynosa.  He is identified as having  significant responsibility for the uptick of violence.

18 yr old killed in the crossfire while waiting for a bus
The investigation of El Gafe was complicated due to his using 8 different identifications and names, and documentation to support each identity.

Federal spokesman explained that El Gafe was captured along with three other people in the vicinity of Lake Cuitzeo Street, Colonia Vallarta.

According to PGR authorities, the arrest of the CDG leader provoked the mass violence of yesterday, with convoys, narco blockades, and commandos shooting at police with AK-47s and AR15s. According to the feds the convoy consisted of  15 vehicles with 60 men.  People on the ground say the number was much higher and in several points of Reynosa.

PGR did not answer the question if “El Gafe” was ever a member of Mexico’s special forces under the same name.

The suspects were transferred to PGR Headquarters Mexico City

    1. Hola Nelson!

No that was not his name, and in fact I told Itzli I did not think that was his name. But The name I thought was correct was wrong also. read the article, he had 8 names with documentation which which complicated the investigation. and yes this is him. he is looking down yesterday. and look at those freaky ears :)

you should post on the forum if people are getting info wrong. there is a lot of wrong info on the cdg thread! they name only the nitwits who dont have any real pull. the gulf cartel has much more powerful bosses and top commandants, theses guys are the scum of the cartel, thieves and kidnappers.

    1. Mainboard BB and forum have vastly different standards. In the case of the ongoing thread you are speaking of, it is simply a discussion forum, with good information but yes mixed with undocumented information and some speculation. This is the reason why Itzli does not post it on MB. He doesn't feel comfortable doing so without a source of confirmation. Myself I have suggestion he post some of the info that is reasonably thought of as truthful but with a disclaimer that there is no way to say positively. But I think he feels that forum is where this type of information belongs.

    2. PS if you know a statement is incorrect, why not just say so. and give the reasons why you challenge it. That is how we learn....right?

  17. I have no doubt that Gafe was captured because of a dedaso!! By who I don't know but Gafe is history.. The current candidates to be the new leader of los metros of Reynosa are Choco and Wero Cleofas. Toro is not liked by many plus his jefe de operativa. Juanito 98 would also be a likely candidate but his currently fighting C7 and Matamoros.

Maybe it was Panochitas, because his mother (and other family) was slaughtered.

    1. But who can he trust? Most of his compadres are dead. I don't know if he has enough power to become part of the command structure. Plus, who does he side with? He was locked up before the split between Los Zetas and Golfos. I would guess he would go with the Zetas but you are right we do need to keep an eye out for him.

  29. Lucio had posted el gafe is attributed for authoring the uptick in violence beginning in feb. he did not say omar was released in feb.

he used the presser comments and press release of pgr for those details. even though he supposedly did not return to tamps until after march that would not prevent him from organizing attacks etc.

i removed the feb reference about the uptick in violence, apparently it was confusing to some readers thinking it said after 42's arrest in feb. it never said that nor was it even in the same sentence but it is now gone

    ReplyDelete
  30. The reason he returned after z42 arrest was to organize a push into a weakened Zeta territory.
Not because he was hiding from z42.
