Police detain author of the San Fernando Massacre

Translated for Borderland Beat from a Milenio article by O.B.F-W

The Police detain in Tamaulipas Jose Guadalupe Reyes Rivera, identified as an operator of Los Zetas, and is accused of having planned and taken part in the killing of 72 migrants in August of 2010.

Jose Guadalupe Reyes Rivera, "El Sasi"

Elements of the Federal Police apprehended Jose Guadalupe Reyes Rivera, "El Sasi", identified as an operator of Los Zetas and one of those probably responsible of having planned, and killed the 72 migrants in San Fernando Tamaulipas in August of 2010.( See Link to BB reporter Ovemex original report)

The capture happened after an arrest warrant was ordered by a Federal Judge of the Second District in Penal Processes matters with residence in Tamaulipas.

The Prosecutor General of the Republic offered a reward of five million pesos for information leading to his capture.

Reyes Rivera was apprehended in a mechanics garage located in the Camino al Pueblo Colonia, in the Tamaulipas capital of Ciudad Victoria, he was immediately transferred in Matamoros Maximum Security Prison.

In the next few hours a Judge will determine the judicial situation of Reyes Rivera.

It should be mentioned that at least 18 Municipal Traffic Policemen from San Fernando collaborated with Los Zetas, in the execution of the 72 migrants, whose bodies were found in a mass grave located in an area of the Municipality.

The Municipal Police were carrying out Halcone duty and intercepting people who were later taken to "the pentagon", ie the county jail in San Fernando where "El Mero Bueno" who was an old Policeman, and another called Oscar Jaramillo, who both took money from criminals to collaborate.

This is part of the information that the Attorney Generals Office (PGR) declassified based on an order from the Institute for Access for Information (ISAI).

In the information card of the PGR, where the numbers of the previous investigations launched in this case, explains how they identified the Police collaborators.

On the 2nd of April of 2011, elements of the Mexican Army detained Elfego Cruz Martinez, Jupiter Almer Cano Guerra and Adela Yudith Ochoa for the crimes of homicide, kidnapping, and violation of the Federal Law of Firearms and Explosives.

The investigation was merged with another investigation that was opened by Sergio Cordova Martinez, Julio Cesar Lugo Chaca, Jose Mauro Onate Rodriguez, Samuel Moreno Saavedra, Edgar Sosa Solis and Juan Pablo Cabrera Escalante, also detained by the Military for violation of the Federal Law of Firearms.

    1. Well we will see he's been transfered to CDG main plaza. This we tell if Golfo is still in it, if he survives the week than Golfos are done.

  2. Yea him and el Kilo had did a remake of Gladiators without Russel Crowe. El Kilo was picked up and arrested but whatever happened to him? He was the Zeta loose cannon commander who wanted hammer and club fights to the death while they were all smoking dope, drinking and laughing their asses off. Beat his ass down every waking moment and fuck his "fundamental human rights" too.

  3. It only took 5yrs. Whats the worse they can do to him they havent tortured Chapo, Treviños, Iguala Mayor n wife, La Barbie etc... shouldnt Mexicos prisons be over crowded by now with all this snitching?..

    1. No they are too busy letting them out when they reach what they consider old, deteriorating health. I never heard of such. Did the innocent victims reach old age? Of course not. Everyone pretend not to want this in Mexico, yet follow it like a drama on tv and compare the different cartels strengths and weaknesses. Rather sickening. If people really didn't want this, they would be forcing for new laws, perhaps deaths of murderers. Nope, nothing. Just sit back.

    2. Just 1 example: People demanded change, new laws, in the Ukraine... the "government" there made them pay with blood. Everyone ought to know that asking governments for change is at best a sick joke and at worst asking for bullets from a sniper. So maybe is this why we have all these armed groups running wild right now all around the globe claiming to be bringing "change" for us ordinary folks? Does any of this even make sense, is it reasonable to try compare / contrast Mexico's vicious narco-war with Ukraine's war on separatist rebels? ie. is all this bloodshed really about change and laws or is it just a case of "we are the government you will do as well say or else". These might not look comparable at first but if you look closer at the tactics used you might see what I'm trying to point out here.... are the USA / Russia / MX / Ukr / govnmts. playing these dirty war games to create power structures over people they otherwise wouldn't be able to control? Think about it... Citizens can't force in new laws unless they are prepared to potentially face violent backlashes from the Powers that be. And Who actually has real power in the world these days? And how much - be honest here - how much of this sickening stuff is down to economies / greed politics? I suspect it all is. Apologies for rambling just trying to see if there is a larger picture here!

  4. so bogus, this is the third "author" of the san Fernando massacre arrested.

the truth is no one authored it. the killers were not supposed to kill they were supposed to extort or recruit. zetas killed them and left a manta about it.

    this is gove bs

    1. Can you elaborate or provide a link to the manta please? Why did the operation go wrong? Who went rogue? Is this the same massacre that 40 was supposedly at smashing heads with hammers? thank you for your time.

    2. It has been posted three or four times here on BB at least once by chivis. I just spent 20 min searching here but with the new format it isn't so easy now. I will continue looking.

here is what happened; there were 7 sicarios at the ranch. they demanded the people work for zs, they refused, 2 of the guys began the killings. when the kid that escaped told the marina about the ranch and what happened, they went after not believing him at first and the sicarios were there and engaged in shootout. 4 got away 3 killed.

then just a few days after authorities got a call where to pick up the killers that got away. they went to the SF site and there were 5 bodies. 3 men and 2 women but the message indicated it was the men who were the killers and they were not supposed to kill the migrants.

and btw in searching for the article I found these masterminds or involved with the 72 already arrested:

  6. Im sure that govt has plenty of 'authors' to choose from. This is just another ploy by the govt, to attempt to gain some type of "praise", in this horrific case. Smoke and mirrors people, lots of smoke and mirrors!

  9. Everyone will say this won't affect the Zetas they will continue as usual. However mentally it has to have some effect. Their leader was caught and there after many, many more are being caught. It has to have the group questioning who they can trust and who not to trust. This may cause another splinter. Also with all the new ones caught after the leader. Are they singing to the Feds? One has to question.

  10. Its terrible to massacre 72 people but word is that they were being transported to reynosa for the cdg, so its not like it was done for no reason.

  18. "Presumed Guilty" richly illustrates how mexican law enforcement can do as they please with anybody, guilty or not...
Last example is Dr Mireles and his AutoDefensas, it used to be that you could be arrested and held in jail for 72 hours for investigation, interrogation, or charges to be presented, now you can be put in prison, indefinitely if any hijo de la chingada suspects you are trying to conquer all of LatinAmerica, while the courts look the other way for a few years, no bond...
