Calderon "I would have started sooner, with greater force"

In an interview with El Pais on Tuesday, former Mexican President Felipe Calderon concedes that he made mistakes in Mexico’s war on drugs.  He admitted that 60,000 to 70,000 dead represented a lot of casualties in his war on drugs, which spanned from 2006 to 2012.

“Yes, that’s a lot. And each one weighs on me more than anything, but those homicides were committed by criminals that I was fighting against,” he said.

The National Commission on Human Rights has also alleged there was a sharp increase in torture and mistreatment complaints during that period. "It’s true that federal operations increased and that there were abuses. However, they were the exception, not the norm.

In all cases, the government took note and acted according to rule of law to bring to justice those responsible,” Calderon said.

Asked what part of his strategy he would have changed, Calderon said: “I would have started the changes a lot earlier, with greater force and more resources.” If he had done nothing, Mexico today would have been an open stage for organized crime, he argued.

Calderon referred to organized crime as a national sickness, which like a cancer patient, needs radical chemo-therapy like measures to cure. It leaves the patient in pain, but “it’s not the doctor’s fault.”
Moving forward, the ex-statesman said that now  “I sleep better. I have less problems to think about.”

  1. Go hard or go home is what I say. If you go after the cartels you have to kick them in the teeth and not have any regrets. The only problem was that he showed bias towards Chapo's boys and that him the upper hand.

    2. Mexican presidents cant get reelected, I dont think he did a good job. He should of gone towards every cartel not just zetas and familia michoacana. But it's crazy how strong he was on the zetas but they're still strong.

    3. They have captured 1 or 2 main heads from each Cartel. So in the end he attacked them all. Chapo, Eduardo AFO, killed Arturo BLO, Treviño Zetas killed Lazca, Vicentillo Zambada, killed M1 Felix Torres etc....so Calderon not just went hard on Zetas he went balls out on everyone.

It is a well, very well documented story, the US has been behind drug trafficking all over the world, in cahoots with english mandarins, and since they discovered all the money involved, started persecuting american drug lords, those not aligned with them powerful US business and politicians.
--It is no secret that the US got heavily into drug trafficking from latin america to the US, the best market, and in their pursuit of the migh dollar they did not care about their countrymen.
--those powerful amerikkkan capitalistas also stole the gambling industries from the mafiosi, and allow their protected drug traffickers from latin america do their business, but when they keep too much for themselves, they get persecuted, prosecuted and their money they made on the side gets expropriated.
--Calderon, for all his pious statements, has very well documented transgressions against our intelligence, all of his secretaria de seguridad publica sicarios were denounced thousands of times by criminals and non-criminals, by citizens that had no interest other than the safety of the mexicans, genaro garcia luna chief of SSP got denounced in the chambers of federal congressmen, and in the federal senate, by vitims of his kidnappings and extorsions, president felipe calderon NEVER LET THE FACTS get on his way to keep that fucking animal in power at the head of his criminal organization, he knew, OK? He knew all of it, on time, but he refused to move one finger against his cohorts, maybe because he did not want to die in a plane accident, like juan camilo mouriño and other superpoliticians who tried to do something, not out of patriotism, but to save their billionaire contracts with the federal government as agents for other countries and their political careers for the future, HARDVARD UNIVERSITY sure is making a name for themselves by harboring mexican criminals in their collection...

Since mobsters in the US gave in to shakedown artists posing as politicians, it has all been going to hell for everybody else in america.
Calderon persecuted everybody, trying to shake them down, that is all, and the only reason z40 got caught was because of bertie boy's son murder, el pri got that down not really fecal, the zetas have always been salinas de gortari's boys since he stole the military's budget and gave them the state of coahuila to help support themselves with drug trafficking...

  19. Al botas blancas lo chingo genaro garcia luna, para que vea que perro que ladra no muerde, y de pasada le mordio todas las nalgas al pobre barbas.
El botas got fucked up by genaro garcia luna, to show him that barkin' dogs do not bite, after el barbas threatened garcia luna, he was not going to be allowed to be able to do it again.
--Genaro garcia luna had many of his coworkers and underlings at several police offices murdered, genaro always cleans up after himself, except for the origins of all of his millions of dollars down there
