Members of Tamaulipas State Police set up intelligence chief

Proceso (5-7-2014)  Translated by un vato for Borderland Beat

CIUDAD VICTORIA, Tamps. (proceso.com.mx).- The Mexican Army detained at least 10 members of the Policia Estatal Acreditable (Trustworthy State Police) on charges that they "set up" the Tamaulipas Chief of Intelligence, Salvador de Haro Munoz, so that he would be murdered by "Los Zetas" gunmen,  an official source informed Proceso.

The group of State Police officers  was captured by Army soldiers hours after Salvador Haro Munoz was murdered in the streets of the Colonia Altavista, added a military spokesman, who asked not to be identified.

Haro Munoz, chief of the intelligence group that was tracking leaders of "Los Zetas" in the capital of  Tamaulipas, went on Monday afternoon to the steep, twisting streets in the popular Altavista neihborhood to investigate an anonymous tip about the presence of a (criminal) boss in the area.

He was accompanied by a group of State Police officers who led him to the intersection of 42nd and Ocampo Streets, where 20 "Zeta" gunmen with assault rifles were waiting on the roofs of the houses.

The source explained that the first shots caused the death of Salvador de Haro Munoz, while his bodyguards responded to the attack and at least ten members of the State Police fled from the scene, which was recorded by the security cameras on one of the main streets that lead to Colonia Altavista.

The first gunfire exchanges caused the arrival of Marine and Army soldiers to the area, who confronted the gunmen for almost an hour. The gunmen kept the military at bay during that time.

The intense shootout was recorded by neighbors, who posted audios and videos on the web page "Valor por Tamaulipas", recordings that show that this was not just another one of the daily confrontations that take place in Ciudad Victoria.

At the end of the fight, the military managed to kill four gunmen that had taken shelter in a home and captured five more, among them two women, while the rest of the gunmen managed to escape.

Hours after the confrontation, the military captured the police officers who had fled from the scene, and in some cases, they found envelopes on them with money that the organized crime group had paid them to "set up" Haro Munoz, the military spokesman said.

The Intelligence Department led by 55 year-old Haro Munoz had distinguished itself during the past few months by being the main instrument in combating the "Los Zetas" leaders that control the Ciudad Victoria plaza.

  2. So, what is the going rate ($) for betraying your comrades, your country, your honor and god? After you spend the envelope of money, how long til you need more? Now that the bad guys know that you too are scum, do they even need to pay you for more betrayals? Someone needs to clamp down on that plaza so that the bad guys know not to do that sort of thing. I wish I could help but I can't work without absolute trust and integrity. Gob?

The last I heard Justice is suppose to be: Swift, Sure, and for all to See.
Injustice 2014 is having every excuse in the book, when the good guys should have declared martial law 25 years ago, and cleaned house from Cape Horn Chile to Cape Sheridan Canada.

  7. Marshall law needs to be established in hot spots. In these areas, municipal and state police should be relieved of duty and the military, though not incorruptible, is the lesser evil.

  11. It happens. Certain jobs in México come with a certain type of expiration date. Not for the job but for life. Too bad the ones wearing ties and suits rarely end up in the gutter where they belong. They're not pigs they're scavenging vultures feeding off the dead. Be it citizens or their own people.

  18. How does it help to establish Martial Law when the army are paid by the mugroso Z as well? The whole reason they can do what they do is because they pay the army and police to turn a blind eye or set up comrades.

In reality the army , navy , municipal police , state police , are all paid off by the zetas, the only way to clean house is to bring in outsiders. A wise man said " if you cant trust your friends , sometimes the only people you can trust are strangers. Now EPN will never allow outsiders in to police mexico's border area , because that is an admission that he has lost control of his country.
Bringing in peacekeepers from other central or south American countries wont work as they are paid as little as the Mexicans and so are open to corruption. So that leaves the USA , they certainly have the " gung ho " attitude needed to take on and wipe out wholesale the cartels in the border area.

About the Laredo Z and Z's from CV I have read that there is a rivalry because Z40 send Regino Gutierrez to be the plaza boss of CV but the Z's from CV do not like him. I heard that a meeting took place and both sides came to an agreement. Valor Por Tamaulipas said that according to his sources Cmdte Marrano is not dead he was in some other place. The people that got killed in the house that you are taking about are actually close people of Cmdte Ferrari from nuevo laredo. Actually there was even a funeral being held in nuevo laredo many believe its the people that got killed.

  23. if out of 100 000 police oficers, very probably 50 000 are corrupt, that is too many to prosecute, imprison and or execute, but if 10% of them are bosses and all of them are corrupt, it means you only go for 10 000 promoters and sponsors of crime, their own subordinates will gladly finger them for you, that would solve 90% of the crime in mexico.
the zetas really are working for galindo ceballos, the fact that the corrupted officers got caught red handed with the money envelopes in their hands, is a sign that they were pretty well SET UP, and an indication of a very smart entrapment by a very smart operator, none other than enrique francisco galindo cebollas, the pig eyes on the pig cheeks, has spent one year preparing, and is on the one year house cleaning, already taking back el bajio for the zetas, working on the baja californias and sinaloa, has the golfas killing each other, will he make it to year 3 ? you can't fool everybody all the time... we'll see

  24. 2:31 zetas are running mexico today, could it be that the mexican military are and have been using present and former military elements to take over all the drug business? and could you say why or on what you base your statement? if it is just a feeling or suspicion it's ok too, there is room for that, just making sure, pena nieto's campaign based on the prizetas of NE mexico, paid off for the PEMEX takeover, and now all if them are going for all the marbles, that's the mexican marshall plan for the corrupt mexican politicians running shoulder to shoulder with the zeta martial plan for all of mexico. "A RIO REVUELTO, GANANCIA DE PESCADORES"
now the fucking PRI continues the PAN PLAN, privatize all the mexican patrimony for the greater benefit of foreign investing combos, who get all the property for their troubles of corrupting the mexican government as a 10% of profit, the other 90% is the continued enslavement of the country for ever and ever and ever. no doubt, we are all fucked up...
that is what happens when you dialogue with an enemy that needed to get whacked, not talking with, from down here to up there, and they still have poison pills for whatever, we don't have any...

  25. Mexico is so upside down that it is pathetic . too bad cuz it will never change ..

    ReplyDelete
  26. 8:37 do not despair, it may change, but talking with the established government, will only worsen things, and at least delay "change" for
4 and a 1/2 more years, we need a national conference of the discontent, now! we don't need official approval, or consent, we only need to go viral like: yo soy 132, occupy now, anonymous, or the harlem shake, organize at the national level, court international support, etc etc etc.
--the institutions are broken, it is proven, they can not go around making international deals and giving away concessions that enslave the country for the next ten generations, under penalty of invassion, by international thugs, with the laws they wrote themselves, by themselvs, for themselves...

  28. It would not surprise me if they do own the restaurant. Valor Por Tamaulipas reported that Comandante Ferrari of the Zetas Cartel regional chief of Ciudad Victoria owns a narco bar in McAllen, Texas. Supposedly the name of the bar is Don Diablos.

  29. " the good guys should have declared martial law 25 years ago, and cleaned house from Cape Horn Chile to Cape Sheridan Canada"

That was my quote. When I said the good guys I wasn't talking about just forces within Mexico. Only the Marina (Navy) is worthy of being called good guys in Mexico. I meant a pan-American action with representatives from every country from Cape Horn Chile (Tierra delFuego) to Cape Sheridan Canada (The Artic). It shouldn't just be the U.S. because we don't need to be the unthanked police of the world, but also so that no country cries foul that they were left out of the mix. Inclusiveness also would promote greater cooperation and mutual respect. It should go without saying that safeguards would need to be recognized against any kind of avaricious profiteering by private interests. The main point is that because we have the resources available to insure that all cockroaches are are exterminated and not allowed an environment to fester in, in 2014 there is no excuse that we continue to ignore these barbaric bandidos to have their way with anyone they want to.
