"I am a farmer earning 20 thousand pesos a month" says El Chapo

Borderland Beat
He doesn't smoke, he doesn’t do drugs  or have tattoos. He does not remember his telephone number.  He has no e-mail.

He says he is a farmer, but not only of bean, as he said in his statement twenty-one years ago as he was being  detained in Guatemala.  After his escape from Jalisco’s Puente Grande prison it appears he has diversified his farming.

Now he also planting corn, sorghum, and safflower.
He insists he does not know anyone in organized crime.

He is Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera, El Chapo Guzman, and he only answered seven questions the day After his arrest.  Excelsior was privy to documents of his answers and statement.

On  February 23rd at 20:10 hrs

The day after the worlds most wanted drug trafficker  was captured at the Miramar building in Mazatlan, Sinaloa he was interrogated.

For the second time in his life, Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera gave his statement at the Federal Center for Social rehabilitation No. 1, the maximum-security prison of Almoloya de Juarez.

In front of him was the agent of the Federal Public Ministry, a public defender  and two witnesses.

In total, there were only seven questions.

Chapo’s defense attorney Óscar Manuel Gómez Núñez was present.

At the examination, carried out by personnel of the specialized attorney in investigation of organized crime, as well as the specialized unit in investigation of crimes against health, El Chapo Guzman said that he was born on April 4, 1957 in La Tuna, belonging to the municipality of Badiraguato, Sinaloa.

He is the son of Emilio Guzman Bustillos and Consuelo Loera Pérez

That he is married to Alejandrina Salazar, (see above) with who he procreated four children: César (33 years); Gisel (31); Ivan (28) and Alfredo Guzman Salazar, of 27 years.

Who has three brothers: Emilio (59 years old), Miguel Ángel (45) and Aureliano (43 years).

Who earns 20 thousand pesos a month (1500USD), that he doesn’t smoke and drinks alcoholic beverages very sporadically.

That does not consume drugs; has no tattoos; It was detained in that same Federal Center for Social rehabilitation and in Puente Grande, Jalisco, on the charges of criminal association and bribery.

That he did not remember his phone number and has no email.

Here the questions  asked by  the Federal Public Ministry ( MP) agent and the responses of Joaquin Guzman  Loera . (JGL)

MP-.may the deponent say to which organization he belongs.

JGL- I don’t belong to any cartel, nor have any cartel.

MP – may the deponent say what does he does..

JGL-I am a farmer

MP-May the deponent say what is what he cultivates.

JGL-grains of corn, sorghum, beans and safflower

MP-May the deponent says if he knows any member of organized crime.

JGL-No I don’t know any person belonging to organized crime.

MP- May the deponent tell us if he has sustained injuries. If Yes, explain how they were caused,  and if he desires to formulate complaint

JGL-No I don’t present injury and do not want to denounce anyone.

MP-May the deponent say how he has been treated by staff these days.

JGL.- very well.

MP- May the deponent say if at all times their human rights were respected.

JGL-Yes, my human rights were respected by the staff.

  3. LOL I read this article and I have to say. El Chapo is a funny man, $20 thousand pesos a month he says, LOL. According to his private secretary Hoo Ramírez el Chapo will spend on his family allowance $1.8 million pesos every 2 weeks. The 43 confiscated vehicles had a total value of $21,800,000 million pesos, almost $1.7 million dollars.

Chapo is a unique person, he can live like a millionaire on $20,000 pesos a month.

  4. Just an innocent farmer who unfortunately has been designated as the "fallguy" for the Mex gov't corruption. Chapo will be cleared of all wrongdoing and resume his humble ways as a bean farmer. Justice is the corrido of his life.

  13. Maybe someone can help him remember his phone number, like another farmer or the place he sold his corn to. Or maybe his wife...his lawyer must be a Sharp guy because farmers have the best lawyers .maybe he has his number? Give chapo a chance. He might need more time to remember.

  20. I just don't understand how people can be angry at Chapo, if drugs is all that you know, if it's the business your family and everyone else around you is in when your growing up, how could you possibly think that it's wrong? I understand it's not easy to do, but the Mexican government must find a way to help out all these rural villages like La Tuna so they don't have to keep dealing drugs to survive.

40 would tear him apart. And I don't just mean beat him badly in the fight. He'd get him into submission and then literally tear him apart while his mother was forced to watch or something.

  24. It costs valuable tax dollars to keep these people locked up. They should let him go. All he's going to do is go back to farming.

    1. They both don't know how to fight you really think 40 will submit him

so he is legally married to his first wife and the others are common law. I didn't see that coming.

    1. Men "marry".
women want you to "make them a baby".
z40 wanted to "see" his.new son.
El chapo wanted to "see" his twin girls last time he was with emma coronel, his last "wife".
Isn't it funny how people don't tell "it" like "it" is?.
Kind of like trying to hold on to some innocence...

You think loosing 15,20 mill worth of properties and items mattered to a guy like this? That was a small fraction of his net and well worth loosing if it allowed the real him to operate with greater ease now.

  34. Would the Kiki Cammerena "card" be Chapo's leverage ticket outta jail? He set Caro Quintero up to take the heat on the DEA agent's killing, with la misma DEA.

    ReplyDelete
  35. If you are asking if Mexico has a bigamy law, probably so, but I doubt they would ever enforce it. It is not uncommon to live in a common law marriage without a divorce, usually because of cost. But in Chapo's case I doubt he wants to be anywhere near a court. He took good care of all his "wives", but i wonder if him not saying his current wife was his wife, was a legal issue. I just don't know. It was surprising but not shocking.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't know ...you guys .i still think he is guilty .but at the same time,he was in prison before so maybe he learn the first time .i guess we would never know .

  37. among all the truths and the lies, one thing stands out, chapo is not famous for killing the innocent, or trains of death immigrants, or kidnapping for ransom, the zetas are, kaibil style.
z40 the walking barrel of menudo, may be an animal when he has his niggers around and his victims tied up, nobody has reported how good any of them is at hand to hand combat, but you don't exactly work for 40 years as a top drug boss for nothing, z40 had the run of the zetas for 6 months, after kissing ass for 10 years and bringing down his zeta associates.
el lazca relied on z40 for his gang connections in texas, not for his comnat skils, and trusting judas got lazca all fucked up, something nobody eber did to lazca, chapo for all the snitching accusations, is not famous for having snitched his way to the top, there is a lot of differences between the two, sorry to have popped your cherries ladies.
now let's wonder if the z40 is tan, tan, pero tan chingon why is he affraid of la ardilla? then there is la barbie, bigger and more used to handling motherfuckers without their gang there to back'em up...
    keep wondering deluded quinceañeras...

I believe that is not JAGL do to the fact it is clear he has DEA contacts. 3. I read that the only woman he trusted was the first wife. 4. There is bigamy laws in Mexico. The only way Mexico will get better is if god blesses us with another Fransico Villa or Emiliano Zapata.

  43. So now we're going to debate which washed up cartel leader will win in a fantasy death match?... As far as Chapo's story goes, what the fuck is he supposed to say? He's already up shit creek, he IS the top of the food chain.
He will get no considerations or cooperation "deals" no matter what. Just listen to your lawyer, give the gov't some bullshit story and settle in cause it's gonna be a while.

  46. Am I right in thinking that regardless of what he is now charged with, he will still have to serve the reminder of the sentence he was supposed to be completing when he escaped? I am not sure on Mexican law, but in UK an escapee would probably be returning to a longer sentence for bad behaviour.

  51. bottom line, HECTOR BERREILLES and PHIL JORDAN, former DEA agents have confronted and accused Felix Ismael Rodriguez of the CIA of conspiring with Mexican DFS agents to murder KIKI Camarena.
--rodriguez can't understand how the ex DEA agents can be saying these "monstrous barbarities" about his motherfucking ass.
--rodriguez has a dark and murky history, from the bay of pigs, the asassination of JFK, vietnam, heroin and cacaine trafficking, wholesale murder throughout latinamerica, passenger airplanes bombings with lius posada carriles, and training terrorist camps in mexico, associared with dirty mexican military and federal police, many times as a CIA associate.
--berrellez and jordan have NO record of ANY criminal activities, not even accusations, and berreillez is on of the most condecorated agents ever.
--the DEA now managed by CIA agents, is lately being accused of all kinds of crimes, we'd be better off remembering that there are ATF, CIA, NSA, ICE, BP, and many other agencies that combine their dirty agents and rogue elements to promote other influential people's agendas, usually not for the good of the US, usually very detrimental to the better interests of the US.
repeatedly accusing the DEA of all the ills, is simply not right, oliver north and felix rodriguez have never been DEA agents, and oliver north may even not be as guilty as he seems to be, since north suppossedly denounced rodriguez shenanigans, and big mouth in central american bars before it blew for all their dirt.
we will have to wait for oliver north unauthorized biography and then for the autobiography of oliver north to find some more info, maybe we will find out how much the silence of a former vietnam war hero is worth for saving a pinche cubano's ass, (and his buddy's)

Seriously, the Mexico's bloody history, Spanish conquest, history of civil war , poverty, banditry, blatant US racism and territorial theft, tutors such as the Corsican mobs and Asaf Y Bala in the 1950,1960s then CIA trained Cuban exile Alberto Sicila Falcon who ruled Tijuana in the 1970s and counted ex billionaire DFS leader Miguel Haro ( still alive and absolved recently), then what can we expect.
