Hunting Cablalleros Templarios in the Rugged Sierra Madre Sur

Chivis Martínez for Borderland Beat
The following is a video of the operation to capture Chayo.  Although the language is Spanish, if you have followed the capture, you will recognize landmarks and places that we have written about, before, during and after the capture.

When Dr. Mireles wrote on February 27th they had located Chayo at one of his ranches in Tumbicastio, he also said they found weapons buried in large buckets.  In the video you will see similar buried buckets at his ranch.  Also see how a Templario ranch is equipped, satellite access, computers, saddle hanging and ready for a get away, always a mule on the premises.

You will see the rugged terrain of the Sierras, Chayo, Templarios, and autodefensas know how to maneuver the back roads of the sierras,  too treacherous even  for a horse, the only animal that can negotiate the high, narrow access roads, is a mule.

Only those living in the sierras become skilled in maneuvering the mountains, rendering captures almost impossible and getaways assured.  With the skill of the autodefensas, that was a game changer, it evened the playing field.  They know where to set up human fences, guarding points which surround areas that have been pinpointed as the location of the hunted.  In effect rendering an area "no where to run".

Templarios had "safe" ranches set up in multiple points in the Sierras.  For the most part set up as the one in the video.  However, they have found a couple of very elaborate ranches which appeared as command centers, with computer, and communication rooms, and a solar system that covered the entire roof.

The video begins with revisiting  the Calderon administration and the 2010 massive shootout between federal forces and La Familia Michoacana,   lasting two days in the sierras.  And the subsequent announcement of the death of LFM leader Nazario Moreno González.  El Chayo "dead"...declared dead, for the first time.

Inhabitants of the sierras and the autodefensas, have insisted for years that Chayo was alive, something both  the Calderon administration and the administration of Enrique Peña Nieto has ignored.

In fact the EPN administration's most wanted list did not include Nazario Moreno González.

    1. Your gratitude is grossly misplaced, if you're honest you should thank the Mexican AD.

  3. Any idea's how high up in the mountains? You can hear the reporter start to breathe heavy after a few paces up hill?Usually indicative of higher altitude where many boxers and athletes may train to increase lung capacity. This makes you wonder why Chayo wasn't alerted to the danger?Or was it a case of having no-where to go anyway, being surrounded by AD and Gob,i suppose there is only so far you can keep running?

    1. Mules are a lot easier to take care of in those conditions. Less physical problems & less maintinence & can even live longer. Not as flashy but effective

  8. So the question now is! Is the Narco Templario Attorney General of Michuacan gonna arrest the Mexican Marines along with the rest of the AD (exccept of course the Templario infiltrators) for the murder of EL Chayo?

  9. Fue el "Mas Naco" he's the only narco to be shot wearing PayLess fluorescent green shoes with a wheelie underneath the heel of the shoe... you have to be really dumb to be taking orders from a fool with Green Sparkly shoes that light up when he walks.

    1. Maybe he thought he could use the wheel for a faster escape downhill & the lights were clearly a way for him to show his followers that he was truly divine. Jesus walked on water & el chayo had shoes that lit up, no doubt he was the second coming of Crist, or just another delusional cult leader with a God complex.

  11. Damn,This reporter is freakin annoying. So one question for all you know-it-alls.Wich sierra is more rugged,Michoacan,Sinaloa, durango,or Chihuahua...and from this video,it seems like this sierra is more tropical than Sinaloa.Anyone want to answer that.

  12. Actually, @1:43, mules are far better rides than horses in mountain and rocky terrain. A mule will outwalk and outwork a horse in the mountains any day. In addition, mules are a lot more steady than horses in steep terrain. Not as likely to spook and throw you. A good saddle mule is the best ride San Chayo could have used to get around the rough terrain he was hiding in.

  15. Im no expert cuz I haven't experienced Michoacan's sierra, but I have been to Chihuahua'a and the northern part of Sinaloa and if I had to bet I would say Chihuahua's is more extensive in terms of size, ruggedness with impressive canyons. The fact that the Raramuri/Tarahmara were never conquered by the Spaniards speaks volumes about the rugged terrain of Chihuahua's sierra. With that said I'm happy this narcissistic asshole was abated. I just hope the mule survived, it had no fault in this.

  16. At least he died by him self... I thought they said he was with some pistoleros at the time and they had injured some templarios... And that 1 idiot left a radio behind I think this is all a lie and EL CHAYO IS LAUGHING SOME WHERE...

  17. I thought they said that EL CHAYO was with some pistoleros at the time of the shoot out.... Now the reporter says he was by himself... And the radio left behind was clever trick...

  18. I think EL CHAYO faked his dead once again... And they said he was always wearing white and where's the white clothes.... CHAYO AND TUTA probably decided to betray everyone and leave 1 leader la tuta and chayo as the genius... That way they more $$$$$

  19. Drug cartel makes more mining than trafficking

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/03/17/cartel-dealing-iron-ore/6512167/

LAZARO CARDENAS, Mexico (AP) — Forget crystal meth. The pseudo-religious Knights Templar drug cartel in western Mexico has diversified to the point that drug trafficking doesn't even rank among its top sources of income.

  22. la barbie knew he had to surrender face to face, he would not lissen to the offer to escape, el chayo's autopsy will be worth checking to see what really killed him.
    UNRELATED but relatively related:
Luis Rodriguez, 44 year old refused to provide ID to police officers, who proceeded to discipline him, when the police officers could not find a broken broomstick to put up luis's ass, they sprayed him with pepper spray,
then the 5 police officers proceeded to sit on his face and wherever they could until he surrendered, the five officers claim he died on the hospital or on the way to the hospital the benevolent officers sent his ass which was "mysteriously" not struggling anymore; i guess Luis was calm, cool and collected, and freely breathing, what i don't understand is why he got sent to the hospital or why an ambulance was called to haul away his carcass...
thisnis the United States! how come there are such incompetent prepotent and corrupt police officers here?
King City Ca. six teams of FBI agents arrest five police officers, the chief of the department and the former police chief for corruption and stealing cars from disadvantaged people, selling or keeping them, and stealing the money, mexican brownies and white american officers were arrested...
