Templarios: As Mex Government Hypes capture of "Leader" French Magazine Visits Home of Premier Leader

Chivis Martínez for Borderland Beat
Autodefensas will not go into new communities but also refuse to disarm

Above: Jan. 13, 2014. Inside the house of Enrique Plancarte Solís in Nueva Italia, Michoacán. Solís is one of the most wanted Templarios leaders

Note:  Proceso, Valor SRD and other autodefensas FB and twitter says this is Plancarte on the sofa,  but the article says it is an autodefensa after taking Nueva Italia.....either way everyone in hot areas of Michoacán knows where CT are and live.  In the disarming   of NI people were shouting where they lived......autodefensas do not dress r behave as the person in the foto.

Exactly as printed in Proceso:

"Meanwhile, the same day the online edition of Time published a series of images of French photojournalist Jerome Sessini about drug violence in Michoacán. In one of them, Sessini captured one of the most wanted leaders of the criminal organization The Knights Templar, Enrique Plancarte Solis, The Kikin , sitting on a luxurious couch in the living room of his house in Nueva Italia, Michoacán, according to the caption  of photo accompanying image, dated January 13. "

Executive secretary of the National Public Security System (NPSS), Alejandro Rubido Garcia, reported that elements of the Federal Police (PF) captured in the Michoacán town of Los Reyes Joaquín Negrete,  The  alleged operator of the Caballeros Templarios.  A "leader" that no one knows about.  Insisting they are searching for Templarios leaders to apprehend.

Mean while, the photo above appeared in Time Magazine, with one of the Templarios premier and most wanted ,

French photojournalist Jerome Sessini, captured the photo of Plancarte  the living room of his home in Nueva Italia, on the day government forces rolled into Michoacán under the gise of looking for cartel leaders and restoring security.

Human Rights Commission is investigating the wounding and killing of 11 people by government forces, including an 11 year old girl.
Information sources: Time foto, Proceso and Por Valor Michoacán SDR

Below....Inhabitants and autodefensas of the liberated municipality of Buenavista, located 40 minutes from  Apatzingán, confronted and expelled a convoy with more than 100 elements of the Mexican army.  Explaining they did not want them or need them "an 11 year old girl was killed, and partners of ours".  and a little butt chewing in the process about the need to go after Templarios.

This is a different "war" with dozens of eyes and ears recording each word and action, one is not dependent on words alone.

Autodefensas agree to not advance but refuse to disarm
After a meeting of representatives from more than 100 self-defense groups on Wednesday afternoon, the Citizen Council of Self-Defense decided not to disarm its members and not to leave the municipalities [they have already 'liberated'], but also not to go to new communities.
Estanislao Beltrán, spokesman for the self-defense groups, announced that the Council meeting was to inform community leaders of what had transpired [in their meeting] with Michoacán Governor Fausto Vallejo.
They also decided not to go to other municipalities, but to stay where they are now,
"because if we don't, organized crime will arrive, and it is going to shoot us," said Beltrán.
They will try not to patrol the communities armed, but they are not going to hand over their weapons either.
In order to "cleanse the state of Michoacán from The Knights Templar," they will try to coordinate with the Federal Police and the Army, Beltrán said.
The Council met from 3:30 PM until after 6:00 PM in the livestock pens of the Tepalcatepec Livestock Association. The Army was present nearby. (Beltran is in foto below with Dr. Mireles)

Message from the General Council of the Michoacán Autodefensas
"We have 25,000 armed men, but in an emergency we can bring together 140 thousand and go to war if necessary."
The General Council of  autodefensas and Michoacán community said that there are 25 thousand armed men in their ranks, but "the reality is that, in an emergency situation, in less than 15 minutes, we have an army of about 140 thousand to go to war if necessary".
In a statement that aired this Wednesday evening, the Council endorsed that it not lay down weapons and that it is time "that Michoacán realizes the power (s) that we have to face all these scourges of the Caballeros Templarios".
They said that less than one year of their appearance (the 24th  February 2013), with the taking of Tepalcatepec and Buenavista Tomatlán)," we have been more effective in the fight against organized crime than the Government has been in a decade".
The self-defense forces Council launched a warning that the criminal group: "with its threats are not going to stop, nor will we stop. If you believe that with their narcomunicipales or State will we stop, you are very wrong”.
They insist that they will not give up weapons and much less will not disband,  but clarifies: "the war is not with the Government, but with the Templarios  or any group that wants to come to take us prisoners or enslave us.
THEY ARE READY TO DIE STANDING, NOT ON OUR KNEES.

  3. Not bad, if you like red.

If this fellow was so easy to find, and there are multimillion USD bounties for these fellas, offered by the US and multiple million peso rewards for them offered by the Federales, as well, why are there no attempts at kidnapping them?

Where is the Mexican version of 'Dog, the Bounty Hunter'?

Why doesn't the AD go and capture them, if they are hiding in such plain sight?

Why is there such a reliance on the Federals to do that, when the AD seems fully capable of gathering the intelligence needed for a kidnapping and subsequent delivery of the miscreants to the authorities, in Mexico City or the US?

Why does the AD target the plaza and not the players?
Their funding problems would disappear with the bounty that would be paid with the capture of just one real CT leader, like the one in the picture.

    2. Plancarte is not hiding in plain sight. No one knows where he is at. His son Kike and his daughter Melissa are both supposed to be professional singers and their two tour buses were abandoned in Apatzingán over 5 weeks ago, the two tour buses are worth about 50,000 dollar a piece, and the two buses are being watched by the federal police.

    3. CT is posing as journalists taking photos of the army and feds, who have no clue who they are, and

    4. Yesterday El Chayo, La Tuta and Kike Plancarte were seen eating at a rancho a couple miles away from Apatzingán City Hall - and the government knew!!

I could do it, but I'd miss some translation and I'd have to take a couple hours to do it right. I'm supposed to be at work right now ; )

  16. The fact that everyone knows where they are doesn´t mean they are just there waiting for the autodefensas to catch them, they have lookouts and they have hitmen protecting them and the autodefensas don´t have the capacity to surround them and get them in a place like Apatzingán (not to mention the urban battle that would take place), even in much smaller towns they have rarely caught leaders since the sicarios cover their escape.

I do agree with their strategy of taking towns and kicking out the narcos, it should be up to the government forces to look for the leaders, arrest them and dismantle the cartel structure, the autodefensas are simply claiming towns for the people who live in them

As far as the Templarios they hide, threaten people, burn down buildings, trucks, run to the hills, and make the residents pray to a fake saint. Its time the Refion was restored to the people. The Federal Government needs to get rid of this Cartel Scum and allow the Auto Defensas to clean house. The residents all know who these Templarios are by face. TAKE THEM DOWN. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! I have read it is a war, that the objective of the war is to drive the CT from the State of Michoacán. The Governor of the State has met with the Council and they negotiated a Cease Fire.

The AD will not advance from its present locations.

Unless the 'War' is over, and the objective is going to be abandoned, the AD will have to target the individuals, not the plazas. The AD has all the plaza it is going to get, using the old tactics.

Frontal assaults and motorized armored convoys are yesterdays doctrine.
The Council agreed, they will not liberate another community.

If the goal remains constant, the annihilation of the CT, then the AD must change tactics. The CT is not the plaza, not Parácuaro, not Michoacán.
The CT is that list of individuals that has been referenced.

A shift from 'Conventional' tactics to SpecOps is what the Council has allowed itself, or the war is over. The AD lost, its primary goal, fulfilled.

There are professionals that for millions of dollars could snatch just about anyone, even Osama bin Laden, if the intelligence was available.

If these CT are getting photographed and La Tuta is video taped eating breakfast at a ranchero, guaranteed the AD could find out where they are.

If they are going to fight a war, then they should read Sun Tzu.

People have been saying this to the soldiers...that everyone knows where the ct leaders are, they walk and play freely in Michoacán.

BUT...I really do not think catching the capo does anything. ask Calderon. He was successful in catching 3/4 of his hit list. Cartels are big business they prepare for the day when capos will be apprehended or killed.

However, CT is a young cartel and do not have organizational or financial power as of yet, although they are growing at an unheard of pace. Now would be the time to have a good chance at exterminating them. A year from now, too late.

They are sleeping with the state gob. and some feds. not all agencies are bad, the army is. feds showed their intent by going directly after the AD and not CT. and I feel this has made resolve strengthen and people who were afraid to become involved, and sitting on the fence of involvement so pissed they now realize they must. Michoacán SDR had 60k followers before the deployment...today they have 100K

  29. When China tried to fight drug addiction, the British declared war and beat China with their superior ships and weapons, imposing their drug trafficking, and extorting all the advantages to control the ports they wanted, monopolies and all the necessary Chinese slaves to build the railroads of america. the British have never stopped trafficking drugs, and with their profits are buying the world now, laundering drug money at about 1.5 trillion per year,of which almost nothing goes to the growers or the traffickers.
The US press and government, constantly express that poverty is the cause of drug trafficking, and lend or "give"aid to the poor countries, constantly demanding that they take control of the dirty trade The CIA and the international bankers promote for the money they get to keep
This exact same pattern we see in Latin America, from corrupting our governments, to appropriating the national patrimonies,to impossing the most unfavorable trade imbalances, not happy with all that, they introduce terrorism by the armed forces, police, paramilitaries and common assassins.
The CIA had the Israelis trafficking US weapons to Iran,"to arm the contras",sold poison gasses to the Iraqis at the same time, and egged them to fight a war that left 500 000 deaths on each side.
    TO FIGHT POVERTY,I SUPPOSE
Mexicans can not expect any different than other parts of the world, and this fucking little report will not fix anything I guess, but we will keep trying...

  30. Just a quick comment for Jack and Chivis. Regarding LFM and Zetas and CJNG and the decapitations and mass killings. If you think the cartels do this to frighten or intimidate other cartels you would be wrong in my opinion and ill explain why.
Take for example the dumping of 36 odd bodies on the freeway by the CJNG. To begin with they claimed the bodies were zetas. As we know, it turned out they were ordinary people rounded up and butchered to make a statement. The zetas sure knew that the bodies weren't their people, as did CJNG. Who are they trying to scare or intimidate then? Ordinary folk is the answer. The whole population of Mexico. In all towns, people know where the cartel members live. The town people don't act on that information because of the FEAR of reprisals if they do.
Its the same for all the videos posted and pictures on the internet , they are purely there to subjugate the population of Mexico with FEAR.
FEAR is the most effective weapon the cartels have and they wield it with considerable skill. All the cartels employ psychological warfare specialists.

BUT if you can manage to quell the FEAR even for a short time , you deprive the cartels of their most effective weapon , as we have seen the auto defensas and community police do. This has had the effect of a complete turn around , where now the CT are the ones in FEAR. FEAR of the retribution that is coming their way. Look at the way the CT bailed out of Apatzingan when the AD arrived, like rats jumping off a sinking ship, regardless of " whole warehouses of sicarios" as some have said on this thread. Running for their lives like the true cowards they are. BIG men with large round hairy cohones when they are killing and raping un-armed teenage girls. Cowards of the worst type when faced with real fight against a determined opposition with nothing to lose.
Jack I know you are from the UK and that you are new to posting on BB so I will post a list of kindle books I found particularly interesting on the subject of the cartels.

I just watched the video of the people blocking the pass to the soldiers and all I can say is that: It would look way more scary and determined if the Comunitarios were to be more organized, better spoken and very silent. Something like "As you can understand and thanks to the recent events, it is more than obvious that even if we wanted to, access or pass to and through this community is impossible at this time, sorry for the inconvenience" That way the Army has no excuse at all to do anything less than what the community wants.

He felt his life was in danger. you can see the fear...in the videos."

Then you should keep in mind the latest email I sent to you privately. At this stage it is far more important that Dr Mireles recover fully from his injuries. He needs REAL time to rest and recuperate. There is absolutely no sense in putting him back onto the streets of Mexico, where he is at risk continuously, always under great stress, and in real danger. I understand that he is a great symbol to the people of Michoacán right now. But what good is he to the cause - if he is dead. He needs to fully regain his strength. The autodefenzas can afford some downtime for Dr Mireles - they can afford to let him go away and recover for a while. It is in their best interests, and his too. P, CA

  35. "How will the CT be driven out?
Someone has to cut off a few heads, either literally of figuratively."

Jack, this is a tricky business.
The autodefenzas have to keep the moral high ground in this fight. It is absolutely essential. Otherwise people (USA and Mex) will just argue that the autodefenza movement is just another form of a crtel - or will turn into one. There are already some people saying that. Look at FARC in Colmbia ... it started as a peoples' movement. Today it is a major cartel.

So the autodefenzas need to find a way to defeat their enemies, but not become like them. Hence this is the reason why Dr Mireles is so important - he is the moral champion of the autodefenza movement. P, CA

    ReplyDelete
  36. So the autodefenzas need to find a way to defeat their enemies, but not become like them.

    Exactly my point.

When by agreement and consent of the Council there will be a halt to liberating any more of the plaza, well then, what is left?

Targeting the individuals that constitute the CT, seems to me.

Now if one wishes for the AD to maintain the moral 'High Ground', and there is no dispute that the AD should do that, then they must act within the Law.

The 'Law" is offering sizable rewards, bounties, for the leaders of the CT.
The Federales offer no such bounties for any member of the AD, do they?

The AD must utilize the 'Law', they should develop tactics that take advantage of their strengths, to collect those bounties and send the CT on their way, to prison or ...

But to surrender the initiative, now that the AD has it, is foolish.

The Greatest advances of the AD, the moves into the biggest towns and cities, came when Doctor Mireles was not in the decision making loop.

Oh,by the bye, I have never been to England.

  45. Chivis,
Do you know anything about Rodrigo Vallejo Mora, son of Fausto Vallejo Figueroa, governor of Michoacan? People are directly accusing him of being a leader of Caballeros Templarios known as "El Gerber." This could explain why the CT scumbags have enjoyed total impunity for years...
