Gulf Cartel gunmen arrested in Monterrey

On Monday federal and state authorities announced the capture of ten Gulf Cartel gunmen responsible for the murders earlier this year of patrons in 2 bars linked to retail drug sales by Los Zetas.

Three patrons were killed in the Cafe Iguana in May and twenty patrons were murdered in the Sabino Gordo nightclub in July. Both bars allegedly served as "narcotienditas" where drugs were on sale to the public.

Also seized during the arrests were 10 rifles, 64 magazines, 3 grenades and 5 vehicles.

The men were identified as Francisco Salas, age 38; Sergio Valdés Garza, age 40; Cuitláhuac Mendoza Garza, age 45; Daniel Isaac Muñoz Ramírez, age 25; Jesús Alejandro González Manriquez, age 23; Víctor Manuel Juárez Cruz, “El Pelón”, age 34; Néstor Molina Xaca, “El Tortuga”, age 22; Rey Indalecio Melo Rosas, “El Big Show”, age 23; Margarito Martínez Valdez, “El Bebé”, age 35; and Jesús Enrique Uscanga Galo, “El Perro”, age 26.

  10. Free food no. Let them starve, they don't deserve it and why give them shelter they should pay for their sins. 1 bullet should do it. Bring back the gas chamber and death row and Mexico wouldn't have so many KILLERS running loose like a bunch of animals on drugs.

  14. There hasn't been much on CDG lately, it's kind of like La Famila and Beltran Leyva, after they took heavy hits. No narco banners, no more videos, no bodies from bridges, nothing. We hear of shootouts in their strongholds, but don't know who is behind them, we hear rumors of inner conflict, but don't know details.

  15. Zetas would have Reyno and Matamorros if they wanted it. CDG is nothing compared to the Z's. People were quick to jump on the CDG bandwagon after the so called alliannce of La Federation. Then the videos of them killing Zetas and all the corridos from el movimiento apendejado. People were looking silly trying to talk like the Sinaloans. All on Chapo's nuts. They would start drooling once they heard banda music! Even the radio station DJ's changed their accents and started playing more of that garbage. Truth is the zetas do so damage and are never claiming to be angels. They are the most hated and feared for a reason. Chapo and his team of cry babies are always asking the govt for help. The Zetas weathered the storm and are in good position to be the dominant cartel in 2012...

  18. 6:52 PM...I don't know what farm you are living on but you need to wake up and come to the new age. The Zetas own a strip 200 miles wide from Central America, through Southern Mexico, all the way to Texas. They own the Rio Grande from South of Ojinaga to the 15 miles from the Gulf of Mexico (300 miles). They are infested in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston too. Every cartel in Mexico fears their power and growth and begs the military to help them fight the Zetas or they are allied with them because they have too. What in the Hell do you mean, "they are not even a cartel?" I do not like them. I do not like their tactics. I do not like what they are becoming. But it is what it is and they are the most hungry. You might want to do a little reading about them. I sounds like you have rose colored glasses on and carry pom poms for the other side.

  20. Everyday there are cartel busts in Monterrey, lots of kidnappings going on there also with large sums of ransoms being paid to the criminals (possibly Zetas) though the media never says what criminal group they are from or associated too.

  21. @ Anon 3:36

The reason they are difficult to take out is because they have been entrenched in those towns you mentioned for well over 30+ years, they have developed relationships with authorities and have their backings. It was like that all over Northeastern Mexico and still the Zetas ripped it out of their hands!!! roflmao Los Zetas were not even a cartel, they were a small group of mercenaries they hired. They handled El Chapo when CDG couldn't, they defended Nuevo Laredo from La Barbie/Chapo/Beltranes! So jump off the CDG nuts and no I don't support Zetas but I do accept that they are kicking every other Cartels ass throughout Mexico.

  22. @12/8/11 9:24am. They defended Nuevo Laredo? You are crazy. They have destroyed Nuevo Laredo, by extortion of the big businesses and the cold blooded murder of hundreds of innocent people half of them women and children I lived in that city in the 70's and I know what I am talking about. Defended Nvo. Laredo from la Barbie? When la Barbie and other sob's were in Nvo. Laredo there were about 10 killings per year. Defended Jajajajaja.

Obviously you did not read the article or comments being discussed, did you?

The discussion was revolving around CDG and Zetas and the power that both of them have or had.
The point was being made about how the Zetas fought and defended CDG turf back in 2005. Never once did anyone assume that Zetas were defending the Plaza for the good of the people. I think by this point we all know what these scum are capable of. So what is your point with the ignorant comment you just made.

  24. @12/9/11-7:33am. They defended Nuevo Laredo from La Barbie/Chapo/Beltranes. That is what was posted. Or may be that is what they did.then started killing women and children, and that is something the other sob's did not do!. So you need to go back to school ignorant woman.
