Mexican Army Captures "El Golon", Zeta Leader of Northeastern NL

LAHT

Mexican army soldiers captured a leader of the Los Zetas cartel who allegedly has smuggled cocaine from northern Mexico into the United States for the past eight years, the Defense Secretariat said Saturday.

The secretariat identified Cristobal Flores Lopez as the Zetas’ main operator in the towns of Anahuac and Lampazos de Naranjo, in the northeastern state of Nuevo Leon, and in the town of Candela, in the neighboring state of Coahuila, “for approximately the last eight years.”

Flores was arrested Friday along with two other suspected cartel members, including a woman, while they were riding in an SUV in Anahuac.

Personnel from the 7th Military Zone arrested the suspects at a checkpoint and also confiscated drugs, two assault rifles, a handgun, ammunition clips, ammunition, a vehicle and communications gear, the secretariat said.

“This individual is linked to the seizure of 132 kilos (290 pounds) of cocaine by military personnel on July 14, 2011, in the town of San Nicolas de los Garza,” part of the metro area of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon’s capital, the statement said.

Los Zetas and former allies the Gulf cartel have been engaged in a brutal turf battle for more than a year for control of smuggling routes in the states of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas.

On July 14, the Mexican army found a vehicle abandoned with it's doors open and hazard lights on in Balcones de Anuhuac, San Nicolas de los Garza, Nuevo Leon. Inside the vehicle soldiers found 124 packages of cocaine with a total weight of slightly over 130 kg.

  8. @ 2:16 AM..."He looks as if the lifestyle ate his soul, hollow and empty." Really, lol, it looks more like mild mental retardation and drugs to me. This guy isn't anybodies leader except maybe the kids out in the alley that are cruel to the cats and dogs.

  9. LOL, so we are encouraging communist dictatorships now?

I assumed those 130 ki's belonged to the Zeta's, this guy looks like he was an independent trafficker, under Zeta/CDG, and for whatever reason went with Zeta's.

  10. As Frank Lopez stated "Don't get high on your own supply" Sure it will make you fearless in a gun battle, but it also makes you sloppy and more likely to get captured or killed.

The truth is in plain site. Why is the percentage of Sinaloa arrest such lower than much smaller cartels? And why the fuck do you people think the Zetas are more ruthless. They all do they same type of killings and kidnappings. Don't believe there narco PR.

Don't mean to get off topic but the U.S. government is going to use these guys as an excuse to issue an assault rifle ban, while they have been secretly supplying them(Operation Fast& Furious). You guys need to wake up. If you are not angry about what is going on in the U.S. you need to inform your self of the things that matter. Your children's children will be suffering from our governments past and future decisions.

  15. Yeah, 2:59, we should start stocking up before they do issue those bans. People didn't think Obongo was a gun-grabber but look at him now. Little by little they're inching closer, getting their grubby little fingers on my Constitutional rights. The matter with all these limp-wristed posters here is that they never tasted freedom. They come from a third-world mentality that it is the thugs that should be owning their entire lives. They've been brainwashed into thinking that we stole their land when it was fought for like real men who did not want to be part of Mexico anylonger, and not in the cowardly way that it is being done right now by these pro-raza organizations, pro-immigration, pro-anti-gun, pro-cartel, pro-anti-american zealots. They think it's funny, they actually think it's alright to destroy OUR country as they've already destroyed theirs. But that's what people do when they have nothing to die for, when they don't stand for anything, when they have nothing to look forward to. In their jealous rage they seek to corrupt every institution like a cancer slowly choking out the host country until it gets weak and dies like theirs has. They never had shit so they won't be shit. God save our country and people.
