Blood in Neza, 9 people executed

Police say eight people have died and two have been wounded in a shootout among drug dealers in a poor suburb of Mexico City. A ninth person who was originally included as a victim of this attack, was killed in an unrelated incident in the Benito Juarez neighborhood.

Mexico State Attorney General Alfredo Castillo says drug dealers who once worked together are fighting over control of the La Esperanza neighborhood in the city of Nezahualcoyotl.

State investigators say in a statement that gunmen arrived in three cars at a house in the gritty neighborhood and opened fire on a group of people gathered there on Sunday.

Three were killed instantly, five others managed to escape only to be killed a few meters from the house.
