New Cartel: Cártel del Pacífico Sur

State of Morelos - After the assassination of Arturo Beltran Leyva by the Mexican Marines the restructuring of the cartels in Morelos could have possibly created a new drug cartel: The South Pacific Cartel "Cártel del Pacífico Sur" (CPS)

The South Pacific Cartel (Spanish: Cártel del Pacífico Sur), is a Mexican gang that originated in the Mexican state of Morelos.

Although they call themselves a 'cartel', the 'South Pacific Cartel' is only a local cell created on April 2010 by Héctor Beltrán Leyva, leader of the Beltran Leyva Cartel. The gang is known for having employed a 12-year-old gunman and executioner.

In the last recent days there has appeared graffiti, narco-messages, burning of homes, businesses and cars, and besides the usual murders, there has been a new signature of the source of all this: Cártel del Pacífico Sur (CPS).

Over the past two days the acronym (CPS) has appeared written on the walls of private homes and businesses that were burned, allegedly done by organized crime since March 30 in an effort to take control over the state of Morelos.

In criminal acts by this new criminal organization, which comes amid a dispute that is being waged between the Beltran Leyva clan with their former chief of sicarios Edgar Valdez Villareal alias "La Barbie." There has been at least 15 suspected sicarios killed, whose bodies have dumped with narco-messages.

In the homes and businesses that have been burned, there has not been anyone injured yet, but after each of these fires, the acronym "CPS" is written on the walls.

The violence in Morelos intensified after the death of Arturo Beltran Leyva on December 16, when elements of the Mexican Marines discovered his whereabouts.

  1. Could this be the big split in the Beltran-Leyva organization, between factions led by La Barbie and Hector Beltran? Seems like this was where this was headed. Totally speculation, but CPS burning houses, leaving their mark, sounds like upstart branding, and seems likely this is La Barbie's attempt to take over the turf of the Beltran-Leyva cartel.

  2. Cartel Pacifico Sur: is a cartel that goes by the name of La Resistencia, La Empresa aswell or Beltran leyva organization.

in reality, its a cartel who will face extinction soon, by the new federation and the government. Aswell as la barby and his sidekicks and the zetas.

face it, cartel sinaloa or federation, dominates the game. they are the ones who have been chosen by the government. Also the strongest one of all.

  5. In hindsight - looking at the original posts one year ago = the CPS is alive and kicking Chapo Guzman's (Sinaloa) butt - at times. They are indeed the remnants of the Beltran Leyva organization, the Sinaloa Cartel's ex-patriots. They are now controlling many of the cities of northern Sinaloa, and parts of Sonora, areas once controlled by Chapo Guzman. The CPS (BeltranLeyva) is in bed with Chapo Isidro, a 28 year old from Guasave, formerly trained by the "El Mayo" faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. He alone absorbed the 'narcojunior' hit squad of the 'Antrax' and eliminated the rest. He currently holds the "tactical" leadership of the CPS. Chapo Guzman's operations are being stretched thin, since the war with the Beltran Leyva and La Barbie began last year. Also, the Zetas are now on their own front, encrouching on the La Familia Cartel's home territory. La Familia, is no longer an ally of the Sinaloa Cartel, as they are mostly scattered groups of small operatives, each with their own leadership, much like they were before the Federation days. Yes, the CPS is here to stay. There is rumor that they are working to make an alliance with the ArellanoFelix organization, who is in disarray and a skeleton of what once was.
