Police Commander Executed in Mazatlan


Mazatlan, Sinaloa - A commander of the State Police who was allegedly abducted "levantado" on Wednesday night in the municipality of Culiacan. Heavily armed men forced the officer in a vehicle and a full search by police and military was conducted to attempt to find him.

He was found on March 18 with his head and parts of his body torn up from gunshots a few yards from the highway Mazatlan-Culiacan.

The police also found a narcomessage written on the lid of a cooler accusing the commander of being a "soplon" blow whistler.

The commander was identified as Filemón Ceceña Arredondo, "El Fily," he was 35 years old.
